Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The biggest only cheer from our lot yesterday was when Son chucked his mask away after another half-arsed attempt at controlling the ball.

And when they starting singing "we forgot that you were here" in the second half, I realised that I'd forgot I was still there too.

Here veteran Spurs fans are asked to leave the forum (maybe just a joke).

1. For me Stevee, cretinousgoat, Bazali, Mrs. Perryman, Windrepair, Out of the Banch, the Swedish ginger lady, bk_spur, N5_spur, oldwiteshireyid, Punky, spaniel and others. I hope to get to know the people I love to read at the stadium one day and to be able to happily travel to Germany again after a home win. So probably just a "general" nagging - because they should go.

- Hopefully I didn't hurt anyone by coming out as a fan of some people here -

2. For me, Tottenham Hotspur has become my club. Of course I wasn't in a good mood after the game on New Year's Day - it could also have been because of the leftovers from the day before - but the Spurs virus didn't stop at me either and that's why I say

3. This club belongs in the hands of fans and not companies. That will not happen, nor will it happen that we have 3 European cup classes again (National Champion, Cup, UEFA Cup). Nevertheless, a football club should belong to us, the fans, because that's our sport too.

4. Even if I'm alone with my opinion on this, I think it's correct.

5. Now it's time to wipe your mouth (because the result won't change and because the club will continue to be a ball for the money earners) wipe your mouth and win away against Palace!

Gude!

I liken the squad to moving into a new house, you buy all new white goods, redo the bathroom, downstairs shitter, kitchen and ensuite.
After 4 or 5 years the tumble drier packs up and you buy a nice new one, the shower starts leaking and the fridge freezer is on the blink so you have to replace that instead. The walls start looking a bit grubby but you've got a leaking shower then the boiler starts playing up and the kitchen cupboard doors don't soft close like they used to. The leaking shower is starting to show a stain on the down stairs ceiling but you decide to repaint instead of fix the issue, and you've still got manky walls, knackered boiler, leaking shower and bangy doors

Maybe it needs to be called into question how ‘first class’ Conte actually is. We have fallen behind first in our last 10 games and we’ve scored just 1 first half goal in all 10 of those games at home to Leeds. And that’s a run of games against Everton, Bournemouth, Leeds, Brentford, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.

There are positions on the field we need strengthening in and I have plenty of issues with ENIC and Paratici over player and manager recruitment but Conte has to shoulder the lions share of the blame for the absolute awfulness that has been produced on the field this aeason
100% he selects tactics, selects players, makes subs or doesn’t, in game mgt,, “coaches” / trains the players could go on. Now his saying we need to buy more as we don’t have the quality of players to even trouble AV at home and lose 0-2. It’s not on, not once dies he say he has got something wrong it’s always we need time, more players blah blah blah. He got 4th last season as goons imploded then we bought a bunch of players. However this season our football has been turd in every gane except some moments. Even soton first gane we were awful in the first half and went behind. He hasn’t dint nothing to make us more solid regardless of players and done nothing for us to. create more chances. We play nothing football.

I know somebody who will fix that on the cheap.

Shit it's like you've been in my 2017 new build house. Spooky.

If you are mortgaged on a new build forget about Spurs.

Save your money because your problems haven't even started yet.

I do the finishing work on these properties for all of the biggest UK house builders.

You've bought a house made from MDF, expanding foam and decorators caulk.

The dry wall is left out on pallets, in all weathers, on site before they are installed.

Very few of the properties are properly dried out before people move in.

The shrinkage in them after a couple of years is incredible.

Every manager could say they want better players.

He should he doing better and any buffoon who puts that all on ENIC/Levy is living in denial because no managercworth their salt should see their team go behind 10 times in a season let alone in a successive games.

Levy should ask him to sign a new contract, give him a deadline and if games continue to be lost or he doesn't sign, get rid.

Always always said it, THFC before anyone.
Totally he has done nothing to address the way we start and play ganes. To me he isn’t bothered or concerned. Like I said earlier he was asked pre match about it and he replied we need to defend better and be more attentive. You’d think that would be a given since his a defensive coach. What he should be saying will try to play on the front foot with intensity , passion and figjht to try to put on a show for the home fans.
I think those results when we won but played poor seem to justify to himself the means to an end and he was happy as it vindicated his tactics. Now it the results are not going his way but performances are still crap he says he needs more players and time. Couldn’t make it up.

I agree with you here and a couple of your other points today. What gives me some concern though, is both Mourinho and now Conte have both said that the squad isn’t good enough. Regardless of what we might think of their methods, or their style of play, those two generally know what they’re doing.

I think it comes down to the players not being good enough. That cries out for investment and squad turnover. Maybe the blame here falls to Levy and ENIC, but irrespective of that, the main issue is the players aren’t good enough.

TLDR; if you blame ENIC, you’re in agreement with Conte that the squad isn’t good enough.
Most of that staring 11 were purchased in the last 2 years under Jose, Nuno and conte.

It will not be pleasant but I think Spurs best option at this point is to accept that we're into rough weather and we've got to ride it out with Conte to get to the other side. We're too far in with his system to chuck it all and once more start over with a new manager. Conte was consistently saying this team wasn't strong enough, even when a lot of us (myself included) thought we'd be top four again this year. It appears he was correct in his assessment and not just posturing. At this point backing him means not just getting new players who fit his system but making more tough choices about players to move on. And it might mean moving an unexpected big name player own at the upcoming transfer deadline if for no other reason than to grab the attention of the squad. Better to make big moves in and out in January, if possible, and try to get ready for real progress in 2023-24. Firing Conte or trying to stay in the race and not moving players out just pushes the timeline back further.
It’s east bro say not good enough for him however what has he done to try improve what he has at his disposal? Great get out of jail card saying players not good enough. Was he saying that after we scraped thorough those early victories. The style of play is all intentional as in that is how he wants us to play no matter who we buy.

And mostly that's why I agree to an extent but believe both Mourinho and Conte are clever enough to hide behind their deficiencies.

Lesser squads in objective terms play more coherent football.which actively talks of a philosophy being brought into.

In truth I also think it's about winning and that sometimes styles of play are overstated.

Either way when it's going fine neither Mourinho or Conte talked of player quality. The second it goes wrong or games thar should be won are lost it's not my fault guv.

We could get these so called better players In which case it's just the players thst are making the difference.

Managers have to ad valorem. Conte is falling well short at present and needs to put right or p!ss off.

I am no sentimaiist
Correct! He needs to do much more for his money his paid.

Well, winning cures all ails. When we were winning with Mourinho a lot of us could accept the style of play. It’s not enjoyable, but if you are getting the wins, you can tolerate it a lot more. But of course, playing unattractive, non-daring football and losing at the same time? That’s the kiss of death, and rightly so.

Yes many are absolutely dreadful, especially Persimmon in my experience from acquaintances.

Mine's been structurally fine so far and hardly any cracks/shrinkage. It was thankfully completed well before we moved in in 2017 and they ran the boiler for weeks - I saw the gas bills.

I've had a new build before that was MUCH worse though, cracks all over the gaff. Painted over them and sold up. (Not the main reason we moved, mind)

The plastic plumbing has been leaky in various places, that's the main issue to date in this house.

I'm so fucking sick of us right now!!

We never seen to get it right...
And even when it looked like we WERE getting it right, we still found a way to balls it up...

Clubs like Leiectser can win a title.... and whilst I'm not saying we swap our entire history for theirs, it's still damning and telling that WE can't achieve that... even for a one off season!!

Where have the leaks been?

On the central heating pipe fittings, the waste pipe, or the cold water feed?

Heating and hot water have been fine. One on the toilet water inlet , couple of wastes (kitchen sink, washing machine). Some poor sealing round the bath. Managed to fix them all myself so far.

(Conscious this is the wrong thread for plumbing chat lol)

When they put the pressure into the heating system it finds the leaks before people move in. The bathrooms are usually fitted on a price. The quicker they go in; the more money the installer gets.

You can get all this rectified for free in the first twelve months if you find the issues. It's well worth paying a specialist company to do a snag check at the point the property is handed over.

They know what to look for.

Why do you think ENIC are getting in on the action?............:levylol:
