Whilst I agree to some extent, we'd all love to think that all 22/23 squad players are totally interchangeable and can slot in seamlessly without anyone really noticing any disruption to the team... but in truth, that's not quite the case!
Sissoko for example does not exude the same confidence in Midfield, as say, Dembele or Dier... though funnily enough, Winks is now almost a certain starter for tomorrow, as his inclusion is no longer seen as makeshift or an inferior choice... as it may have been with other youth team players.

Son for me is the one that epitomises strength in depth... Not a regular starter earlier in the season, but now he's in, he's almost impossible to drop! He's become indispensable and proves the point that if you're good enough, your time will come.

Two games in a week have probably come too soon for Lamela, and i'd expect him to feature tomorrow (it's still a bit of a risk to start him tomorrow and/or Saturday... though if I had to choose, I'd start him tomorrow, and see how he gets on... but we'll see!)

Jan simply has to play, and stay fit/not get booked... I think him being alongside either Dier/Foyth (or Aurier/Davies for that matter) adds some stability to an already depleted defence...
He needs to take the responsibility that comes withe being relied upon. No silly tackles that could lead to a booking, or worse, an injury....

Llorente hasn't quite convinced that he's ready to step in for Kane any time soon (nor would I expect him to) but a sub role to either hold things up, or try and have an impact late in the game is absolutely where I see him for the rest of the season.

The rest kinda pick themselves... though it would be interesting to see if Poch decides to rest either Dele/Eriksen, maybe to give them a bit of a shake up, and know their places aren't guaranteed if the performances don't merit it... though in Eriksen's case, I expect him to play. I've a funny feeling Dele may be saved for Saturday...

Here's my 'for what it's worth' line-up:
[formation=4231, Lloris, Trippier, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose, Dembele, Winks, Lamela, Son, Eriksen, Kane][/formation]
i'd play Sissoko instead of Dembele. Save Dembele for City.

I don't think this will be as easy as most of you seem to think , Mourinho said that Brighton gave them the hardest game of the season they have had up to that point and Brighton were only beaten by a freakish own goal and had numerous chances to score , but they didn't and therein lies Brightons main problem , a goalscorer , Brighton sat back and counter attacked Man Utd , yet played a very open game at home v Liverpool and were demolished , they will sit back and wait their chance .

I just googled “ what is Brighton famous for “ & it appears that they love coming from behind & getting men into the hole.

Don’t click on google images though.

Careful... the LGBT have numerous Gooner representatives and supporter groups...
I imagine they trawl the internet looking for comments to get all offended about!

They'd just LOVE to be responsible for getting us hauled up for glib, casual Homophobia!

I'm not saying we should play the reserves against them or not try to compete. I'm saying that if you think we can get away with resting the big players at home to Brighton because it is 'easy' in the very unlikely hope that we can beat both them and city then you are most likely in for a bit of a disappointment .
If anything it's the arrogance of assuming a weakened team can take 3 points that is contributing to making the league a walk in the park for City.

Wangled myself entry to a box for this, so at least I can be safe in the knowledge that whatever the result I'll have free booze to get me through it.

Lloris
Aurier Dier Verts Rose
Sissoko Winks
Lamela Eriksen Son
Kane

End of discussion. Why should we field a weaker eleven? Its a league game. Fullbacks rotate, Sissoko instead of Dembele if he isnt too tired and Lamela deserves a start ahead of Dele.

They have been poop recently. Son with another great game.

My biggest question is whether we go all out, start our best lineup and try to get three points against Brighton and just concede the fact that we probably aren't getting a result at City away. 3 points out of two matches is better than 1.

Have a feeling Kane could get a hat trick here. Looked ferocious against Stoke and finally over his injury. He knows the clock is ticking if he wants to beat Shearer's calendar record too.

But naturally, I'm not making him my fantasy team captain so as not to jinx him.

Went with Lukaku instead. Enjoy the goal drought you prick.

The Moose is obviously more resilient than the rest of the team - in the photos from the training session, he's wearing shorts and no hat ..... the rest of them are wearing a hundred layers !!

I live 20 minutes outside Brighton so I’m really pleased to see them up in the Prem finally after a few near misses.

They’ve actually surprised me how well they’ve started this season as I expected it to be too big a jump and they’d get smashed out of sight most weeks. That hasn’t happened tho and I think we’d be stupid to think it’s going to be a walk in the park especially with our u predictable form of late.

I’d take any sort of win at the moment but would love to see us carry on Saturdays form so I’m hoping for a 2 or 3-0 but expecting us to have to work for it. COYS!

Much like the oppo, the winter just bounces off him.

We need to win this now.
Anything else will see us wallowing in 7th.
Can’t see Wet Ham doing us any favours and Liverpool will probably get 3 points.
Even if Woolwich and Liverpool both drop 2 points a win is essential.

We have to learn to play against teams who will defend on the edge of their area.
Also we also have to stop losing the ball needlessly. It’s been shocking how slack we have been this season.
Dembele, Dele Eriksen all lost the ball v Stoke. One led to the Hugo save which would have made it 1-1.
We will get punished if we don’t sort it out.
In Dembele and Eriksens case it came from dawdling on the ball. With Dele he keeps getting it and turning into a challenge. Lost count of how many times he received the ball and lost it.
Winks and Lamela don’t fuck about. If there’s a pass on it’s quick, one touch and move.
Lamela goes past the last defender on a regular basis. We can’t rely on just Kane and Dele in the box
That’s the way to play against teams who defend deep.
Son should start and I think Lamela should too. But One can’t becuase Dele will start.
