Thats not the point. They`re making an effort to improve their current standing. They are at least trying to compete and get stronger. We, on the other hand, are quite obviously not.

Vorm
Fazio
Dier
Stambouli
Davies
Yedlin

we have purchased 6 players.
We needed a better reserve keeper. we bought one.
Everyone was crying out for a new left back with prem experience and some specifically said davies would be our best bet. We bought him.
Loads of people slagged off dawson last year. we sold him and replaced him with the seville captain who just won a europa league trophy
Everyone agreed naughton as a back-up right back was a disaster. We bought a young, English back-up player with loads of talent that can play across the back four and another player in that position to come in next year
The only random one is Stambouli, but we've sold Sandro who has looked very iffy since his bad injury and replaced with a guy who by all accounts is a tough tackler and can actually play a pass.

We've also shipped out livermore for 8 mill, fryers for 3 mill and got Lloris to sign a new contract meaning our best player didn't get poached in the summer for fucking once!

Yes it's been an utter disaster. Let's all go and kill ourselves.

This squad will take time to build. I don't want shit loads of new players coming in and having to gel again.

We've now reached peak ITK. Nothing can be more ITKey than this. :myword:

"@jetsetyid: one or 2 things may happen yet(outs and ins)
Over next day things should be clearer.
Some things are near but not near enough to discuss."

Don't dispute that Dawson is in decline. But to see so called spurs fans doing a merry dance about him leaving is sickening to be honest. These same people will moan about jan vertonghen not looking interested but then celebrate a bloke leaving who gave his all with dignity and pride for tottenham hotspur.

That tehtrunk video was spot on

Let's run down the last 2 1/2 years at Spurs:
  • Blown two 8+ point leads to our biggest rival late in the season.
  • Had our manager lose his mind over a supposed job offer for the English national team only to have him lose out to Roy Hodgson.
  • The early retirement of our greatest player of the last twenty years due to tragic injury history.
  • Lost out on Champions League despite finishing fourth to our second biggest rival who won the Champions League final in penalties to a fucking German team. Plus it required Messi and Robben missing regular time penalties.
  • Fucked up the Moutinho deal, got Clint Dempsey instead.
  • Sold fan favorite and massive talent in VDV because he was trying to save his marriage. Got divorced like two months later.
  • Sold our two best players to Real Madrid after they struck their way out and then watched them win Champions League and Copa Del Rey with Bale scoring both winners.
  • Had Chelsea nick what would have been our marquee signing out of his Tottenham medical and sign for them.
  • Had Tim Sherwood and AVB as managers.
  • Most injured team in the league by far in 2013/2014.
  • Probably so much more that I'm forgetting.
Moral of the story is that there is no morality or code of conduct in football. We've continually been fucked over by players, managers, and even the weird rules of football. No one is looking out for us to give us a pat on the back if we say, "we shouldn't sign Morgan Schneiderlin because he sent a slightly uncouth tweet". I'm tired of getting stepped over and fucked over. If we think Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez will improve our team than we should sign them even if they spend the rest of the summer standing in front of the Southampton training ground forming a two man picket line. Morality and loyalty is dead in modern football with transfers and we need to get over it. If anyone deserves to fuck another team over it's us with all the shit we've been through the last couple of years.

CJJ and Gibbs, just make a thread for your little arguments and fuck off to it. I've read the last few pages of this thread and it's mostly you two arguing like little bitches in it.

I come on this thread for wild speculation and bullshit ITK, not this :adestare:

If he leaves, good luck. Will stand out like a giant at a team like Hull.
A huge heart, smile and one of the last recognisable faces at this club, who was here for the 5-1 Scum thumping, the season we got 4th, our CC win and CL run.

Old school Legend to me, and will always be in our folklore for scoring that equaliser against Chelsea when we beat them after 17 years.

Always 100% effort, and never hid, or pranced around not giving a fuck.
Top bloke. Sad news.

Really very upset to see Dawson go. I don't think it's a bad decision at all for any of the three parties, but seriously how could you not love the bloke? He's proper fucking Tottenham. He's outlasted more managers, systems and philosophies than you've had hot dinners. Every time he was surplus to requirements he's hung around and fought his way back into the side.

Best of luck Daws. In an era where lack of player loyalty is widely bemoaned it's lovely to have a player who seems to love the club. Once he goes there aren't many left.
