I have never come across a single gay person (and I lived in probably the gayest zip code on the planet for years) who uses the term, registers it or is ‘triggered’ by it.
In a football context, it’s used liked ‘Yid’ to describe a specific set of supporters and, yes, it’s meant to be insulting.
To describe using it as a ‘hate crime’ — and I don’t care if it’s prosecutable as such or not — simply devalues the term. The murder of Matthew Shepard was a hate crime. Triggering some overly sensitive fan with a word that’s barely in the lexicon outside of a football stadium is not a hate crime. When everything becomes a hate crime then nothing is.
2nd was more like what we want to see. 1st half we let them have the ball too easy. Need to play with far more energy like 2nd half and if we could add better quality at LWB, may be get porro up to speed and if richo isn’t gonna provide real quality on the ball then an upgrade there and we’d be cooking on gas. Ok royal has done well but his got to do it on a consistent level and also he needs to provide some creativity. At the moment most of the creativity is from kane and sometimes kulu. Hopefully we see the same 2nd half levels from now on and May be from the 1st half. Really get at teams.
