do you stand up when you drive your car?
I have no problem with people sitting at spurs but not in the park Lane. If people want to sit they could have got there season tickets in any of the other stands. Paxton would have been perfect. The whole point of the wall is to generate atmosphere. Do you think people sit in the Kop or the yellow wall. If we don't have a bouncing park lane our ground will end up just an upgraded sterile Emirates mark 2.

The difference is though that you was standing at the ground, not sitting at home saying how shit our support was !
I was in the west upper on the corner off the south stand and was a decent atmosphere around me which I’m pleasently suprised about as was a little worried getting my ST there :sonhmm:

So you have numerous people who attended the game who have basically said the same thing I have but because someone wasn’t at the game but could quite clearly hear there was a poor atmosphere from certain sections they aren’t allowed to make an observation?

But if someone was at the game and made the same observation that’s suddenly allowed and is ok?

That must mean we should surely shut the forum down then because the same thing must stand for commenting on the players performances? If people aren’t attending the game then people have no right to comment on how the players performed either right?

You’re a fucking imbecile.

I am willing to bet everything I own on the fact I have attended more games over the last 30 years than you have and I can tell you right now I have been to plenty of games where the atmosphere was dogshit and have said the same thing.

Makes no difference if I was there or not, I have a pair of ears and if it wasn’t for me being incredibly unwell I would have gone and sung from minute 1.

The comments about people in the wall asking others to sit down is utterly pathetic as well, the wall was purposefully built for noise, these are the sort of “fans” you should be moaning at, not me.

Palace fan here in peace..sort of.

Firstly congratulations on what is a magnificent facility and one you must be truly Proud of. Teething issues in our bit was the beer kept running out and the infrastructure getting away was fucking awful. Your noise level was excellent when you bothered to sing, but to have “ come on you Spurs” displayed on your electronic screen to encourage you to join in is truly gut wrenchingly embarrassing .

I don’t normally register of other fans boards but on this occasion I thought you would Like to hear what I’m about to say.

I’m sorry to tell you this but new stadium but still a segment of muggy fans. We left the stadium only came down the stairs at the back only to be attacked by some of your big hard lads. I am aware (and can provide photos) of a lady (I believe to be a spurs fan) to be knocked out of her wheelchair when your lot charged the Palace fans. The fighting broke out between both sets of supporters and a 15 school girl I know was taken to an ambulance with a shoulder injury (spoke to her this morning not serious) this injury was caused by the police on horseback trying to separate the two groups. Really Spurs? You have a great new stadium that will last you through to the next century, but some of your fans dragging your name back to the 1970’s.

That all said, on the flip side, I did meet a couple of older Spurs lads who we had a great chat/banter with. Someone will pick up on the “flair” in the Palace end, and before you say anything not acceptable I agree,

Come on Spurs this is 2019.
Have to apologize for that bro. Palace are a great club and I always enjoy going there away. Unfortunately we still have some retrobate that follow us.

Our form has been worse than mid table. That was our first league win for nearly two months. Our worst run of form in Poch’s tenure.

Sissoko has been fucking poor for much of that run.

Serious question.
Do you think you are correct, yet every other fan in here, and who I’ve spoken to, plus every sports journalist, plus every pundit, and every commentator have all imagined Sissoko is playing well, and only you can see he isn’t?

Because I’m be honest, you sound unhinged.

I know you will bring up Eriksen....but the fact is, some people agree with me. Lots.
Some agree with you.

Regarding Sissoko it’s you against 99.9% of people who have watched Spurs this season.

No one respects your views in this because they are borderline the ramblings of someone who takes acid and then watches the game, and then goes to view a pie chart to decide if someone played well.

You are raving about Trippier and his quality every week, but slating Sissoko.
I defend Trippier too, but to claim this team would better off with him and not Sissoko if one had to leave is just pure comedy gold.....I’m starting to think you’re Tottenham’s Mark Goldbridge.

It’s the stuff of parody mate. It’s got the point
where I just laugh at you.
I can’t debate with a “flat earther”.....your reality doesn’t exist, so I’m out.

Shortly after i got to my seat i heard someone behind me say 'are you going to be ok standing up all game'? and i thought...here we go. But then i never heard another peep out of them. Then an old fella with a stick sat 3 seats up the row from me by the gangway. He had a bit of trouble getting up and down but he seemed to be in good spirits anyway & didn't complain.

I do wonder what these people aree thinking though? The whole thinking behind the 'wall' was made fairly obvious & anyone near me must have been fairly high up the choosing phases.
It seems to come down to the usual, i want to be where the atmosphere is but not actually contribute to it or appreciate that the Yids in those blocks are likely to want to stand.

in the late 80s a lot of firms chose to sit, to get away from their bonehead fan bases. Huge MYTH that fans have never chosen to sit.

Those NOT looking for a rumble are/were considered the boneheaded???

Another factor for sitting was easier to 'skin-up' after a night out. lot of people still being suitably refreshed... this of course before "cocaine ruined clubland"

Where abouts in "The Wall" were ya, Top-Middle-or Bottom??
(As Barrymore used to say on Strike it Lucky!!)

The man who says Eriksen (this league’s most productive creator over the last four years) is “shit” and always has been, calls me a maverick.

Yes sammy, has think Sissoko is a technically poor footballer and his constant inclusion is a major contributor (but definitely not the only one) to why we have rarely performed great this season.

I think it’s really poor tactically for Poch to put a player who is technically uncomfortable on the ball, receiving it under pressure etc, in a position that makes it harder for us to play out.

I think he was actually decent last night, but I think he’s been fucking atrocious for much of the last 2/3 months.
But I also think Poch constantly playing him in midfield, especially in CM2’s is stupid and counter early ntuitive on Poch’s part.

Against a team like palace, who don’t want to compete for possession, we got away with it, but as we’ve seen for much of this season, especially the last couple of months, that’s been found out too often.

I’m not raving about Trippier, I would much rather see KWP out there getting more game time, and I’ve said I wouldn’t even mind seeing Aurier given a run of games. I just think Trippier gets unfairly scapegoated, and is no where near as bad as some make out.

And Eriksen is a fucking great little footballer and has been our most influential offensive player generally, consistently, for the last few years.

And if all of that takes you “out” then that’s just an unexpected bonus.

Pmsl
Come on you spurs on the strip lighting - do you honestly believe the club were trying to get us to sing that?

Fuck my life lol

that's interesting, the north stand was actually singing pretty loudly (for Paxton) - and in fact the south didn't sound that loud to me. Plus, I wasn't that far from Palace and they didn't sound loud either - did you hear Palace? wonder whether all the fabled acoustics stuff is true??
The acoustics stuff is just bollocks mate, I recall when Wembley was being built they were making a thing of it then, even did a documentary on the windows in each box were at slightly different angles in order to bounce the noise back a certain way. This is evidenced even more when you see/hear that the loudest grounds in the world all have no roofs on them, not one stadium in Argentina has a roof, yet week in week out the atmosphere is truly amazing.

There are stadiums that do work against the atmosphere, namely those where fans a miles away from the pitch, usually with a running track but even here take a look/listen to the Napoli fans at the San Polo stadium debunk that myth, same with Roma fans at The The Stadio Olimpico.

All the ingredients are in place however for a truly great atmosphere, with the South Stand and having fans close to the pitch in steep sides. I think having a place to drink before a game is also important as people can socialise once again, whereas in the last decade or so Pubs around WHL was so packed I don't think many bothered and just rocked up at the Stadium 10 mins before KO and left to go home on or just before KO. I think this new stadium has gone away from the recent route of taking away from the fan (as in the new stadium builds), there is nothing that I can see that will affect the atmosphere in a negative sense.

In any event, the atmosphere's in England are not like they are in Argentina (or where they are famed) nothing will change this. There will be periods in the game where there will be no singing, this has nothing to do with acoustics, where people sit, how much beer they have drunk, whether they are standing or sat.........It has everything to do with a typical English match day crowd.

I could post all my quotes where I’ve called him world class on many occasions but not consistently.
This calendar year I think he’s been shit.

I’m going to leave it there, because you reverted to nonsense and we’ve done this to death so for the sake of the forum, I won’t engage you on this, because I just can’t take you seriously.

After Levy UK's promises it was disappointing to yet again run-out ... in their defence there are over 60 food and drink outlets (no other EPL ground comes close) all were fully stocked and fully staffed. The problem is we eat and drink just ridiculously more than anyone planned for.

As you know the ground is cash-less so everyone's actions are tracked by their cards, this data will be endlessly studied to try and fix the supply and demand issues.

It should also be remembered that this was a one-off event, 10,000 in the ground two hours before kick-off 45,000 in an hour before kick-off ... this will probably never happen again, or maybe it will?

Let's call them teething problems and see how the next four games go ... if it's still an issue there will be the summer break to expand (unbelievably) the food and drink offering.

On a side note, Spurs canvassed the local pubs and cafes after the two test events, overwhelmingly they fed back that business was very good, with an extra 15,000 last night and the issues inside the ground I'm sure the local pubs were rocking again .... were they?
What a brilliant problem for the club to have though!!

I wonder if we accelerate the plans to get the North Stand concourses finished in this summer? I've seen no date as to when these are to be finished but on the plans, they were just slated for "future fit out" and if I recall they were for VIP or Premium fit out, if this was the case then maybe the demand is such that we change them into another "market place" like the South Stand one?????

That’s a funny point because I remember being told on here I could not possibly tell that Soldado was missing sitters if I wasn’t at the game.

Almost as if seeing it once from 75 meters away gave more perspective than 5 close up replays from different angles in slow motion

The middle tier concourse area of the north stand is quite small.
One main bar area and a couple of tap rooms places. I don’t see they can do much there. Didn’t look at north lower though.

Also where I sit becomes Away section in domestic cups as well.
Got me thinking last night where we would be moved to and if it was a big game QF FA cup for example how many tickets would be available to members if you have to give the away club 15%.

Guess they are banking on ST holders not going to provide extra tickets?
There seemed to be a noticeable number of empty seats in the middle corporate tiers as well.
Which would suggest adding more corporate is not needed right now.
