365 saying it like it is ..............

"Spurs were schooled as Ajax dished out a football education with a masterful, measured performance. They were too clever, too cute, too intricate for these Tottenham darlings in a ridiculously one-sided semi-final first leg"

Unlike Neil Ashton of The Sun – because of course it is Neil Ashton of The Sun – we waited until full-time before passing judgement on this ‘ridiculously one-sided’ 1-0 win from Ajax.

But of course the scoreline can be deceptive and even 1-0s can be ‘ridiculously one-sided’. Of course they can. So let’s look at some of the other statistics, as helpfully provided by The Sun themselves.

Passes: Tottenham 476 Ajax 458

Possession: Tottenham 51% Ajax 49%.

But of course that means nothing, because maybe all Tottenham’s possession was in their own half?

Touches in opposition box: Tottenham 30 Ajax 22.

Oh so maybe Ajax just got more shots away? Maybe Spurs somehow managed to have sterile possession within Ajax’s box. Sounds weird but…

Total shots: Tottenham 12 Ajax 10.

But of course it’s all about the shots on target. There must have been a gulf…

Shots on target: Tottenham 1 Ajax 2

It doesn’t sound like, to quote The Sun, that Ajax had ‘ruthless, compelling passing and possession stats’. And it doesn’t sound like ‘Ajax just boxed Mauricio Pochettino’s players inside their own penalty area’.

It sounds like typical Media Bias

He really used the phrase 'Tottenham darlings'? If so that is absolutely shocking and he should be reprimanded. What happened to getting behind English teams in Europe?!

Apparently fortress Anfield is Liverpool’s Ace card.....just the 4-0 win needed and no mention of the fact that Barca score one, they need 5.
Liverpool were better yesterday and the scoreline is baffling and Barca will come and not try to play football.

Meanwhile, Spurs, who need one goal to wipe out the defeat, then have the whole game to grab an away goal meaning Ajax need 2, are out.

It seems that the BBC are no longer opening up dipper games for comments (HYS), noticed this for a couple of games recently. Strange, considering that everybody loves them.

And where are all the reports about the hooligans at the fountain ?

The BBC going out of their way to say how Liverpool were the better side:

"In the second half at the Nou Camp on Wednesday, Liverpool - who were beaten by Real Madrid in last season's final - had more possession than Barca (57.4%), made more passes (284 compared to 217) and had more shots on target (four compared to three)."

Delusional.

Technically speaking, we also had more possession, shots and shots on target than Barcelona at the Nou Camp this season.

We just didn't get beaten 3-0.

:troll:

(they may have had a couple of players missing)

Apparently its impossible for Barca to score at Anfield.

I mean Liverpool are seven ways fucked. No away goal at the Camp Nou. Having to hold Messi and co. scoreless or score 5?

It's going to play out just like Dortmund did with us...lots of fire and PASHUN on a MAGICAL EUROPEAN NIGHT.

And then Messi curls one in at the 35th minute or something and its game management time.

Well the first prediction was spectacularly wrong.

Lets hope prediction 2 is closer?

Hello, there is another English team in a CL semi final tonight. You wouldn't thinking though with so little coverage in the press today

My god we are hated by so many it's unbelievable

How do we think the media would be reporting the game last night if Liverpool had to play Origi, Sturrridge, Lallana & Shaqiri last night instead of Salah, Mane, Firmino etc?

The lack of insight as to how no Kane, Son, Winks, Sissoko and a Dele with broken bones has effected us is crazy. All we get is the finger pointed at us because Vertonghen's stomach turned at the thought of a bit of claret. The blokes fine, our medical staff acted accordingly and correct

I guess Shaquiri and Origi did alright last night in place of Firminho and Salah. Didn't seem to affect Liverpool being without their big forward stars. Let's hope we can show the same spirit
