Don't worry about Parrot's age. Throw him in:tobyarm:

Sadly there's a catch 22 situation with Poch. He'll blood youngsters, but unless they are at least the standard of the player they are brought in for, they are going to be dropped again.

Dav should have played today. United go with their fastest attackers, we choose our slowest defenders.
Or what has Foyth done wrong recently? How quickly has he gone back to 4th choice CH?

Surely the player most like Sissoko on the bench was Skipp? Seems no amount of soundbites says he's actually good enough for Poch yet?

So Troy might get a 2 minute run out when we are 7-0 up. But even if he scored in that time he'd be back where he started.

Not yet, maybe he needs a bit more time to adjust

Liverpool are top of the league though, so they must be doing something right on the transfer front

They have a back line consisting of a new keeper and CB, play with inexperienced full backs from theirs and Hulls academy, and Milner still starts every week.
Henderson is ahead of Keita now and the front line is unchanged.

Is it just signings?

I heard teams were bending over for them and refs gifting them penalties......

And the time to adjust perfectly sums up why spunking 70M on a DM this window will not necessarily fire us to the quadruple.
It might take a year or two for that money to start paying off......

But by then, he’ll just be “shit” and need upgrading.

If Kane is injured, what do we do?

Son is at the Asia games, Llorente looks to be off and Janssen isn't in Poch's plans. Do we risk it and play Alli/Lucas up top in his place? Or do we dip into the market?

Whos available and how much we are willing to spend is a different matter. Someone like Mitrovic or Austin would be ideal for the moment as it would just be to cover whilst Kane is out, and then would get game time weekly as a sub/cups. Both would cost a bit though considering the situation both Fulham and Southampton are in.

On a side note, Doucoure has confirmed he wants to leave Watford. We should be all over that.

Sammy,

Genuine question. Are there any signings you would actively like to see? Or specific areas that you would like addressed? Or do you think we should stick to the academy and do as much as possible to blood our youngsters?

I agree with you that yesterday had absolutely zero to do with signings. Our stars lost us the game.

But I do think we could do with a couple of exceptional signings to help us out and allow us to rest players.

Again, those signings won’t make a difference to yesterday’s performance. If you don’t score goals, you’re screwed.
