Again it’s personal opinion, but I don’t like that clubs these days sometimes wear their home kits at away matches. What’s that about?

The idea of a 'home kit' and 'away kit' is a relatively recent idea. Teams used to wear their colours regardless of venue.

e..g
Spurs at Old Trafford 1990s

... but you would have a 'change kit' that the away team would wear in the event of a colour clash.

e.g. Leeds would always be in change kit at ours and vice versa

Over the last 20 years or so (?) teams wear their second or third kits regularly regardless. Presumably to help sales.

It's definitely a commercial issue.

If the colours don't clash they should always go with the normal kits.

By the year 2100 I predict we will have 20 kits. 1 for home games and 19 for away matches.

Taste is subjective........ The fact is our most garish kit ever was a big seller.

Personally; I think our 1st and 2nd kits should be trad. colours and the 3rd should be fun and something that is a bit more varied from year to year.

I also think the all white this season looks pucka.

I like all 3 kits this season.
Even the gray/salmon one?

They do but look a few years back at that gorgeous France kit or equally drop dead Roma kit. Sometimes less is more
Less is definitely more Tottenham’s 61 or 81 kits are plain and simple and Tottenham ,kit changes home, away a 3rd kit one for Europe is all a commercial money making scam ffs even the training gear is colour coded for whether it’s the home or away kits, jaysus yes nobody is forcing fans to buy merchandise but clubs know fine and well football fans are suckers for this tat ……..they take advantage.

Are clubs overly merchandised? Sure..... Star Wars..... Billie Eilish...... blah blah.... What mainstream entertainment isn't?

Not really anything to do with whether one thinks the kits are too jazzy though. Perhaps plain and simple doesn't sell compared to what the young gen like?

That’s what they aim for everything is money orientated , all the posts on here and the “new kit thread” are by the older gen that are nostalgic hark back to the days of watching Tottenham white/navy …….navy/white for the away at a push all yellow for a 3rd (not even sure when we started a3rd kit) football shirts can be worn anywhere, anytime now……….
