It's almost as if football is a team sport. And while individual stats are interesting, at the end of the day, they are completely pointless.
Agreed.

Centre backs (ours especially) have crazily high pass completion stats (you'd think they were Hoddle or Beckenbauer). In reality they pass it 10m sideways back and forth to each other.

Stats only have meaning to punters for a bet or for those desperate to support their argument (by any means possible), or to create pie charts.

Otherwise they're meaningless. As I've always said, believe the evidence of your eyes.

Ok, lets start with these five EPL teams.

HK's stats since last season...

OPPONENT: GAMES PLAYED / NON-PK GOALS (ASSISTS)
LIVERPOOL: 4/1
MAN CITY: 3/0
MAN UTD: 2/1 (1)
CHELSEA: 2/1
Woolwich: 4/0 (1)
TOTAL: 15/3 (2)
Non PK Goal Rate: ~20%

So back to my point... we aren't going to win anything with our talisman producing so infrequently against our top competitors. The PK's distort reality.

He didn't produce as much last season against top teams because we were shit against top teams since last season.

Couldn't agree more.
Letting Fernando go and not signing a Mitrovic/Bony/some other tall and burly guy, verged on madness. Akin to not replacing Dembele.
Parrott is too young. Maybe in a couple of seasons after a couple of loans.

When Kane is hot and on form what a player but he gets injured, tired and loses form. He also needs a challenge of sorts.

Mourinho will want someone. No doubt at all.
