What a surprise, the more game time he gets the better he looks, put in a HUGE shift today, ran 11k, won seven headers (the most on either side) made 3 key passes, and scored the winner ...

Sure he missed a few, but so does Kane (remember Utd) and the rest of our front line, it's very hard to be an unused back-up so coming in and scoring 2 goals in 3 starts, gotta luv that

still think he will be useful

If Poch is gonna roll with Llorente as the full time starter for now I think that's a wise decision. Let him get a feel for the game and let his teammates get a feel for popping up those lazy crosses to the back post that he gobbles up so well. He's been useless as a late sub, whereas a Lucas or Lamela is very effective in that role.

Today highlighted why Llorente is a step above both Janssen and Soldado. The two of them would have shied away from that last chance had they messed up as bad as Fernando had earlier in the game. Llorente doesn't hide though, he keeps plugging away and I think that's why Poch has such faith in him. Delighted for the man as he seems a real top bloke.

Took his goal expertly. Rather like Sonny sometimes he needs a few efforts and then BAM a beautiful finish.
Hopefully his confidence is growing, and if we could practice crossing a bit more he could score plenty.
Thought some of his touches and flicks were much better today.

In his prime we would be leading the Premier League right now, he was that good and we need better but super credit to him.

Just did not hide and should get a huge confidence lift by being the hero of the hour. It makes such a difference.

If he can continue to add a few goals, assists and general presence, then fine.

Should we have a better reserve, if you want to call it that to Kane? Yes of course.

But for now we haven't.

We need to play to his strengths until Kane and Alli are back. Not saying go long all the time but when the full backs/wing backs are forward then don't hesitate to whip the ball in. He can do damage if we continue to do this.

We should also not expect him to drop as deep as Harry does all the time. Llorente is a classic box striker. If we expect him to play exactly like Harry he is going to be knackered and winded once we do get the crosses in on him.

He's also 33 so probably just past his best by date. If it wasn't for him seemingly wanting more regular game time (which I really cannot blame him for wanting) his current role with us would be ideal for him. 2nd-3rd choice veteran striker at a big club. Put on to kill games or against "lesser" teams.

A player that doesn't play often or not at all in suddenly getting games and suffering lack of confidence shocker.

Showed what he CAN do last night - played some lovely passes and held the ball up well. Looked quite a threat.

He ran more than everyone on our team not named Eriksen or Winks last night.

10.66km I think it was. That's pretty good going.
