No way! Huddlestone was the master of disguised passes. I always felt he was hindered by his great size.He really wasn't. Modric was though.

Agreed. Last season there were a couple moments he looked lost. Never felt that way yesterday. He looked so much different yesterday than he did in all of his games last season, didn't look out of place and a different type of player to what we have which is fantastic.

Agree with the size part. Just not the type of body for a pro footballer. Too immobile as a defensive midfielder and rarely gets into final third. Sometimes it felt play he was playing around the centre circle. No way! Huddlestone was the master of disguised passes. I always felt he was hindered by his great size.

Midfielder Oliver Skipp will wear the number 29 shirt for the new season.
I think he plays a good part in the upcoming season. Looks the business.

you genuinely know fuck all about footballHuddlestone had a nice range pass, but hardly ever played incisive passes.

not a damn thing
Oh you mean I don't post 10 page dissertations about statistical football porn?I have the same suspicion of you, but it's hard to tell, because you are seem incapable of expressing any kind of independent or original thought when it comes to football, so you just resort to constant childish name calling.
You are a fucking bore.
Oh you mean I don't post 10 page dissertations about statistical fottball porn?
Too many fuckwits with dumb opinions to try to argue with, and I have neither the patience or will to do so.
You are a voluble and garrulous windbag with opinions about everything - and I told you early on into your tedious post history (on here) that your mistake (in my opinion) is that you are trying to turn this sport into a science - because you don't have the imagination or soul to see that it is a sport without a scientific basis - because it is played by human beings.
You are driven by statistics, because you cannot see the game for what it is, you think the players should be machines - table football automatons that perform to statistical images. You talk about positions, shirt numbers and formations as if they are set in stone, because you cannot seem to grasp the fluidity and and dynamic of a game played by real people.
On top of it all you denigrate players because of the pain it causes you that your statistics don't reflect what actually happens before your eyes. I dismissed Sissoko in his first couple of seasons because he was gash, but I have the wit and understanding to see how he has improved and what he offers to the team now, but you have neither the courage or humility to admit that you are wrong or that you dont possess the grasp of the game to see what happens in front of your eyes.
You then doubled down on your ignorance and lack of grasp of the game by dismissing Huddlestones ability to pass a ball and dramatically influence games. You might as well of said that Greaves or Hoddle were pedestrian, journeymen footballers. Thudds only problem was that he wasn't athletic enough to play the running game, his passing ability and reading of the game was Hoddle proportions, he just lacked the athleticism to complete the full range necessary to be the complete footballer.
I feel genuinely sorry for you, you have an obvious passion for the game, and for the club I have supported for 52 years, your problem for me is that you know the cost of everything and the real value of nothing at all.
When its all said and done, your last resort is to turn into a foul mouthed abuse monster - which shows the the true shallow nature of the depths of your understanding - are there statistics for invective and personal abuse?

I've lived with science, real science for all of my professional life. It offends me when people invent science for sports to make themselves feel important. And you have the front to call me a fucking windbag.
You really are an ignorant, hypocritical buffoon aren't you. One of the many differences between you and me is that I'm open and interested all facets of the game, the sport, the art, the business and the science - you are clearly not, why you feel the need to insult people who are is beyond me.
Here's a stat for you. Every single exchange we've ever had it has been you that started the name calling and insults. Just as you did above when I expressed a (non stat) opinion on Huddlestone (and wasn't talking to you).

I'm really sorry I commented on your post, I hadn't realised you owned the internet and your comments were beyond reproach.
