On a per game basis Werner’s numbers are better. 🤷🏻
Werner has done OK for Spurs.

As loan deals go it has been good for us. Solomon's injury meant he was unavailable for selection so Werner's loan suited both parties.

Until today I had thought that Werner as a squad player, for 15 million Euro, would be a good deal for Spurs. Now I'm not so sure.

Werner's confidence is too fragile. He goes past players with ease and his touch and control are quality.

He has provided assists but his finishing is poor.

If he was 22 then giving him a contract may have been viable. I suppose if Spurs were to sell Solomon in the summer, to cover the cost of Werner, it may still make sense financially but from a football point of view; Werner looks like damaged goods.

He is at best 2 to 3 mil player now.

He can run past opp. players with sheer speed on the last 10m before he offloads...
BUT he cannot dribble or beat any defenders thru baller skills. 4M quids at best

Good ol' Levy

Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to extend Timo Werner’s loan spell from RB Leipzig until the summer of 2025 rather than trigger the option-to-buy clause in the forward’s contract in the off-season.
That is the most tottenham thing I have ever read

I don't mind players missing chances. Werner isn't an out and out striker so shouldn't be judged only on his finishing. What I want to see when players miss chances is them not hiding away, and them continuing to get chances for themselves. Werner in fairness generally does that. His movement is terrific. If he was also a terrific finisher he wouldn't be with us.

This just tells you the amount of 1v1s our system creates, get a semi competent specialist out there and we would be a lot more successful when it comes to converting.

Yeah, that's what I took from it too.

We get our wingers into 1 v 1 positions time and time again. Werner is competent at it but imagine if we had someone better.
