Agreed, he could be good for another 4-5 years. He's never been a physical player, not that quick or that strong so he'd cope well with age. His contract runs out in 2018 though, apparently anyway, so would be costly and not convinced he'd join us.

Mainly plays as a CB though, a least for Shalke 04 - where he's also the captain. He's been there FOREVER, like, since 2001 - I don't think he's too eager to leave, came through the ranks to captain his club.
