Emmanuel Adebayor will return to former club Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and look to knock his former employers out of the FA Cup with Crystal Palace.
The 31-year-old's career at White Hart Lane started well before it soured towards the end.
Adebayor fared well at Spurs, scoring 18 goals in 37-game loan spell during the 2011/12 season, before making it permanent from Manchester City for around £5m.
Then, in 76 appearances across three further seasons, he notched another 24 strikes.
Under Harry Redknapp, he thrived. Under Andre Villa-Boas, he was given game-time initially before he was frozen out, and under Tim Sherwood, Adebayor was brought back to life.
With Mauricio Pochettino in charge, the man from Togo was given a good run of games – but that started to decline hugely at the start of 2015 – and his time was up.
But Adebayor insists he holds no grudges against the Argentine manager ahead of Sunday's encounter - but instead has bad memories of Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
"With the club itself, it wasn't a good relationship with the chairman Daniel Levy as he made everything complicated," said the striker.
"But at the end of the day, I know where I am from and if you want something, you have to stand strong for it, and I stand strong for what I think.
"People will judge you, but I know what I have been through in my life and what I stand for.
"My relationship with Mauricio was beautiful. I think we had a very, very good relationship with man-to-man conversations.
"We always talked, but at the time he told me 'Emmanuel, I can't count on you anymore' and I understood that. I realised my time at Tottenham was over and I moved on.
"Today, Tottenham are happy – they are playing well – and I am happy playing for Palace. We both have moved on as a club and as a player."
