So just because YOU haven't heard of him he's shite?
I wasn't talking about myself literally. I'm aware he was a decent player back when he was at Bilbao, but I haven't kept track of his progress since then. A quick google says he scored 7 goals in 31 games in Serie A last year.

At the age of 30 I don't know why we'd go after him, there's not much value in paying high wages and a transfer fee, it doesn't look like he'll suit the fast paced pressing game Poch likes to play that starts from up front.

What have YOU seen of him this year that means signing him would be superb business out of interest?

We'd be paying neither

He's vastly experienced and offers something different to our attack
Any idea what his wages are then, you sound quite confident?

I know Juventus have bought in a few forwards, so if the deal was right then I agree he could be another option as a big man up front - I just think there should be other more suitable targets in front of him that suit our overall plan, not another 30 year old stop gap. I'd rather keep Soldado.

Just putting this out there.

Everyone assuming Alderweireld will play alongside Vertonghen as central defence, whilst this is clearly an option, it is also just as probable that he has been brought in as a defensive midfielder.

If this is the case would make sense that there is not a single piece of ITK about Fazio leaving, not one.

You'd rather have One Direction boy over Dembele in CM because you're worried we'd get pissed on?

Not sure if I have displayed my point wrong or you have read wrong but...

CM: Bentaleb / Mason / Ali / Winks

Winks would be 4th choice for the CM spot...

CDM: New super human CDM / Dembele / Veljkovic

With Dembele second choice for the other CM spot....

Are you denying our midfield is bang average if you take away Eriksen and Bentaleb?
yea i´m! becouse all you can see are names who nobody knows, i see prospekts some will fail others will not did you know that a bentaleb would be that good when Timmy took him to the first team ?
brinngin players or promoting players are always a risk, you will never know what can happen,
he can get injured and become a sandro, he can become a no goal soldado or torres, he can be afraid of a difrent culture or trying to justify the pricetag what people put on him like lamela,

im happy we brought Tobi in but do you think his name will guarntee that we will not be again 2nd worse defence ? its always a risk, but unless you, i dont see a now name team here i see young players who are hungry to deliver. for me its more worth then seeing a "BIG NAME WHO GONNA SAVE US" and fail hard

and i promise you we will see in the middle Tobi and Bentaleb as starter!!!

If we were looking at Toby as our CDM option I can't help but think we would've focused our attention on an actual specialised defensive midfielder, rather than a CB who can when needed play there. My opinion at least.

You think Toby will be good for us?

he's solid, knows what he can and cant do - very modest and enormous fighting spirit + a cannon of s shot in his feet so we'll get to see more direct FK's i think. He's evolved enormously over a few years and even at our NT he has been playing at a very high level at RB, but then again JV also plays very well when he comes to the NT. So yes, i think he'll do good at Spurs and we lacked a over my dead body type of defender for ages now.

No idea how he'll cope with the Poch system though because our midfield lacks steel to protect our defence, lots of one to one situations and i have no idea how good he actually is at that.

So our chairman has come out and said we will continue to spend and we will try and get deals done early.

Looking forward to seeing something or a new link everyday. Llorente next?

This was the best Belgian :

It's been put out there before in this thread and in reality, if Fazio stays, it could mean anyone of Toby, Jan and Dier being considered for DCM. What's also been brought up in this thread is the possibility of three CBs, with one of them stepping up into midfield in possession and dropping back when we loose the ball. FWIW I think that's the more likely scenario of the two. And the more I think about it, the more I love the concept. It would work a treat....in theory. As for reality.....
