Remember back in 2012 when we needed Bayern Munich to win the CL to allow us to sneak in via 4th place....?
...and Bayern promptly lost to Chelsea, denying us our CL place in the process!

Well fast forward 12 years
...Imagine the hilarity if we now needed Bayern to LOSE a CL final against an English side, to allow us to sneak in via 5th place... BUT THIS TIME they (and Kane of course) WON the thing... Denying us once more???!

I genuinely wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry, or officially accept Spursy as an actual THING!

And back a while, didn’t Hazard choose Chelsea over us for the same reason?
I think you’re right, and to give him the benefit of the doubt, that would have been his reason.

However, as seems apparent now , he was probably given a huge undeclared signing on fee and double his salary paid in to an offshore account. All off the books. Might have swayed him a bit. Just saying.

It's never too early in a process to qualify for champions League. You might say it's too early for us to be serious contenders because we need experience, depth, etc.. but the only way you get that is by qualifying and playing.

Finishing top 4 this season will give the team a huge boost going into next year. Remember how many fans thought we would be a midtable side to start the year? No Kane, a nobody manager, etc. Now we are in the CL. What a turnaround that would be.

Would be interested to see that too. Being paywalled too won’t help the numbers. Never hear anyone saying they’re going to the pub to watch the CL match (especially group stages) versus what it used to be like for England games.

Too many snide low block teams and too many rubbish games.

The premier league is more intense and better to watch. Outside Real Madrid, the other teams from outside the prem rarely have a player that is a true star quality player. Not like when we first qualified and Inter or Juve would come to town, or you'd watch Barca play for Messi and the crew.
