It's worse than the transfer thread in August. 15 pages in a day of utter shite....still have some opinions and it's a debatable topic but I seriously can't be arsed to go back through whatever has been discussed today.

Here's the thing, Wenger and Ferguson are the only managers in the past decade to have won a domestic cup and not be sacked/elbowed out of the club within the following 2 seasons - and Ferguson only lasted 3. Like it or not, winning domestic cups is only seen as a success nowadays if it's accompanied by success in the league or in Europe. It's something shiny, yes, but players don't aspire to it, managers don't aspire to it, and chairmen would prefer the focus be where the money is. That's pretty much the same across the globe, really - they're fun competitions that have been sacrificed on the altar of commercialisation.

At least Poch has the balls to say it, rather than go on pretending they matter to appease the romantics.

I'm disappointed that we played such a strong team given that we are playing Manure early on Saturday.
Why not play Luke Amos and KWP? Luke Amos and Christian Maghoma should leave at the earliest
opportunity cos if they're not going to play in the West Ham game they will never get a game.
I worry for Shayon Harrison as well.

I thought not playing KWP was a bit strange as well.
MotM first game of season and we haven't seen him since.
