Champions League 89m
Europa League. 19m

Liverpool’s prize money for winning the FA Cup? 3.4 million pounds.

Those dodgy old c**** at the Football Association need to be beaten senseless for devaluing the greatest domestic competition in the world.

What would you do to change it, so the winners get more money?

If an owner is going to make seven times more out of finishing 6th than winning the FA Cup then I reckon he’ll target 6th — all things being reasonably equal.

What would I do? For starters:
NO semi-finals at Wembley.
Guaranteed last match of the season.
Increased prize money.
I agree with your sentiment that the FA Cup has lost it's 'sparkle', however, The FA can't just magic up £20m for the winners.

I'd love to see the FA cup provide a CL place instead of top 4. Won't happen & would've fucked us over this season (although I bet we'd have beaten Middlesbrough) but would add a real incentive to clubs outside the top 4 to really go for it. Currently the likes of us, Woolwich, United etc didn't really go for it.
David Mellor proposed this over 20 years ago.

It wouldn't have fucked up our season. Liverpool won it and Chelsea were in the final, both in the top 3. Very hypothetical, but we'd have still made it.

True.

It's something that really helped out the Europa League. Even for the teams who had already got CL it managed to boost the overall prestige/allure. It would be huge for some underdog clubs to get that opportunity in a cup competition.

Some amazing aways in there. Been to Brugge and Leverkusen, so the selfish side of me hopes we don't draw them.

How are Shakhtar playing considering the situation in Ukraine? Surprised to see them listed.
anyone drawing Shaktar will have to have a shoot out with anti tank weapons

Really looking forward to this. So many incredible moments in that competition over the years. I honestly think the biggest threat outside of the Prem teams is Bayern.

I'm sure PSG will fluff their lines again.

*Liverpool pot 1 if they win CL final, Ajax pot 1 if Real win
Ajax confirmed in pot 1 now after Real beat Liverpool in CL final

The World Cup in Qatar is forcing the Group stages of CL to be crammed into effectively 2 months from start of September to start November, rather than being over 3 months extending into December.

And that's because the WC runs from November 13 - December 25, 2022.

And of course FIFA want an international break on September 24th.

Matchday 1 6–7 September 2022
Matchday 2 13–14 September 2022
Matchday 3 4–5 October 2022
Matchday 4 11–12 October 2022
Matchday 5 25–26 October 2022
Matchday 6 1–2 November 2022

So its going to be a bastard schedule of matches leading up to WC
Ffs that's going to be a nightmare for the minor clubs with small squads in Europa and Conference!! Hahahawhuahahafchahawhuhafchaha
