Poch was right about VAR damaging image of english football. Once again here we are complaining about VAR and how they have screwed over another team.

It's the officials; not the mere presence of a few monitors.


It should make their jobs easier; instead the human element has managed to make things even worse.

I have reservations with that assessment, only because in the last Euros a country conceded a goal in similar circumstances. And it was given.

Edit, also the defender in the first touch… aren’t all defenders trying to get something on the ball to get it away from the goal…

Probably because he can’t play a winger role like he used to. Wingers in this system need to be constantly beating their man, Son hasn’t been great at that for 1-2 seasons.

The situation with Son is hard, he isn’t a 9 but he perhaps isn’t a winger anymore at least not in how we play.

Buck stops with the manager and the facts are we cannot defend set pieces and it has been going on for months now. Every time a team gets a corner or free kick we look vulnerable. We give our keeper no protection and fail to deal with any quality cross. Same happened again today and Woolwich are renowned for their set pieces, yet we looked completely unprepared. You cannot expect to compete at the top level when you behave like this.

We also seem to lack leadership on the field, with Romero being the exception today. Ange now has no clue of his preferred midfield, as yet again we chop and change, with none of them showing any form. Maddison, in particular, should count himself lucky to be starting games, like Bissouma his form has fallen off the side of a cliff.

The season is frittering out yet again, think we will struggle to hold in to fifth the way we are playing and worse again we have strengthened Scums chance of winning the league with a shameful first half of football. I hate City but hope they keep in winning yo stop that lot.

I find Ange too one dimensional. Next season he has to have some flexibility or the same thing is going to happen if we continue to keep playing the same old way...that means 2 creative mfs...and selling Richarlison, taking the financial hit and trying to bring in someone like lsak or palmer or even Watkins...
Just a thought....
