Well said, this witch hunt v Bentaleb is terrible. I remember saying he reminds me of Jenas, and now he,s getting the Jenas treatment.
Some of the criticism for this performance certainly is harsh.
But witch-hunt?
Most of the time his performances since making his debut have been average-to-good, certainly nothing near being "excellent" or "exceptional" or something like that.
Truth is he has been just average, very fine from a youth player but nothing more than you would as a minimum expect from any Spurs starter. Sherwood have chosen him to play over more proven, good players. Fans are in their good right to expect the same minimum performance level as anyone Spurs starting XI player, and at least as you would expect from some of the faces warming the bench.
Against City he was below par, and I am suprised to see fans rate him amongst the top 2-3 Spurs player of the game. Seriously? He was visibly out of his depth. Which is quite understandble, naturally. But out of his depth he was.
