He's having a good first season. We are by and far miles away from where ANY of us expected.

The football in recent weeks has been fucking awful though and even for large spells on Saturday. The Angeball we saw in the first 10 games isn't there.

Anyway, if we want 4th we have to beat Villa. It's that simple.

I think we should be too far ahead of United and West Ham now for anything lower than 6th.

The defeat against Wolves and similar teams looks like proving costly we obviously needed to be bullet proof against those teams and now we are going to have to take out some big results to get fourth even .Villa game will set the tone I feel .

I'd take any kind of European football to be honest after this season with getting knocked out the league cup in round 2 and the fa cup . Been some long weeks for a club like Tottenham

Given the thread title, relevant to report that Spurs are in 5th place with 50 points and :

- 8 points ahead of 7th placed Wham with a game in hand on them too
- 10 points ahead of 8th placed Newcastle with a game in hand on them too.

So with a game in hand on both, with 11 games left for both, its getting to be too tight for Spurs to be competing for 7th !

We are also 6 points clear of 6th placed ManU with a game in hand, which is a decent position to be in !

Looking upwards :

Villa are only 5 points ahead in 4th place, and we have a game in hand on them.
Woolwich are only 8 points ahead in 3rd place.

So 4th is still very possible, but 3rd might be a stretch.

Given the sentiment at the time the thread was started of aiming for 7th and the average score (given by village idiots admittedly !) for last summer window of 4/10 we are nicely ahead of plan !

Just need to get back to scoring goals and conceding very few if any !

Game away being at Chelsea, where we’ve historically been shit, isn’t that much of a bonus.

Timing of that game and the potential rearranged Man City game will be key for us I feel.

Too early to do a predictor that’s for sure.

At the time I was a little bit dubious the media were waiting to throw Spursy at us if we didn’t do it.

But seems our own fans are pretty happy to break the trend too as the mighty -checks notes - Aston Villa are in town for the party too.

We need to be aiming higher not lower. 4th would be success and history says par for the course after our start.
5th would be doing ok.
And 6th would be a bit if a fuck up tbh.

39 points to play for.

City have looked far stronger with De Bruyne, Haaland and Rodri all available.

Liverpool have lost Salah, Trent and their keeper at the same time.

I like the new format. The group stages aren't very good anymore and most of the first knockout rounds aren't even that interesting. There should be some big games every matchday with the league format.
