Maybe next year. Make no mistake, Man Utd will not be as shit as they have been this year for a long while.

Maybe what next year?

I'd be shocked if we didn't finish top five and get Champions League football for next year.

Man Utd are wank. And will continue to be for a few more years at least. And City will destroy them next weekend too to put their goal difference back in the minus.

Going to have to just suck it up this weekend, I think.

Villa at home to a Forest team that have 1 away win in their last 10 away games in the league. Forest haven't beaten Villa away since 1994.

Man Utd at home to a Fulham team who haven't won an away game since the opening day. And will be without Palhinha who's suspended. Fulham with 1 win away at OT in the last 25 years.
Højlund out for 3 weeks. Shaw out for the season.
Lets see how they cope.

Not been great for 10yrs. ok saying they will sell this, that and the other. Who is going to buy these players and for how much , will have to take some big hits on Sancho and Anthony. They might decide to stay. No guarantee Ten Haag still there next season.
Look at the problems we have had shifting players on big money. Continental clubs cannot afford them.
They might have a new 25% owner but the Glazers own the club.

The way things are going, it doesn't look like 5th will get CL. Manure and Newcastle really fucked us up by not even making it to the EL knockout (ffs). Italy looks a cinch for one of the two spots and we'll have to fight it out with Germany, who are currently ahead of us, Spain, and... France (ffs).

We have been in the top 2 in UEFA coefficient in the past 5 years (top spot in 4 of them), but now that it matters the most we are contriving to fuck it up.

Man City are pretty much favourites for the CL and no one looks like stopping them.

Liverpool are favourites for the Europa League...

Id be shocked if England don't make top two and 5th place goes to this league.

Yeah, but if all the other English teams get knocked out in the coming round (this round with Arse) and 4-5 German or Spanish teams progress to the quarters/semis, City and Pool winning the CL and EL may not be enough. And the results matter too, not just advancing. Going through to the next round with 2 draws and pens is only half the points of going through with 2 wins. And you don't get any extra points for winning the final: it's still 1 point if you get to the final and 2 points for winning it.

It's not going to be as smooth sailing as you think.

I think history probably tells us that the English teams probably won't get knocked out in the coming rounds.

A German team just got knocked out by a team in the Belgian League ffs.

There's a reason England have an 80% chance of getting that extra CL spot.

I’m surprised that anyone is surprised. 5th not getting CL, makes it almost certain ( where we will finish)

Such a lot of rubbish. After the draw we are well positioned for at least 2nd . Aston Villa could do it on their own. Have you seen the teams in that conference. To describe Ajax as a tough draw is ridiculous. They are the worst Ajax team in living memory. 26pts behind the leaders of the Dutch league.
If Bayern get knocked out, Germany have had it.

And even if they don't get knocked out, they'd be knocking an Italian team out which against helps England.

MOTD was good fun I guess. Really need city and Liverpool to step it up a gear though.

Visual interpretation of how I see Man Utd’s “race” for 5th going.
