maybe he should be tried in an advanced role..maybe a number 10 since he is amazing once he is on the ball and he has shown that he can strike the ball quite well

He simply doesnt have the fitness or the work rate to be in the midfield

Lo Celso, Winks and Sissoko in the midfield (start trying Skipp too ?)

The litmus test is, do we look even slightly good when he plays?

The answer is no.

Might come good but as we all know it’s not about talent, so unless he starts giving a fuck, not much will change.

He’s looked good coming on as a sub. I forget which games, but the lad can obviously play. He hasn’t fared anything like as well starting.

I’m basically withholding judgement until next season. It’s fucking frustrating but I’m hoping we’ll see a different player in August.

If he’s lolloping about then, well, we have problems.

The way Mou sets up team is really not suitable for him. At this time, he seems lazy defensively and off the ball, but every time he was subbed on to chase the scoreline he oozes class with every touch he gets. And already got involved in numbers, like assist to Son vs City. He would perfectly fit the way Poch wanted us to play, and I hope Mou will also utilise him, because now we are giving up midfield vs everyone. I still think he's a gem and it was briliant transfer.

Personally I wasn’t impressed with him under Poch either.
I’ve seen flashes of stuff and he has talent but so far I cannot in any way call it a good transfer.

Might come good, might not, it really is that simple from what I can see.
I’d give him time but I wouldn’t really batter an eyelid if he moved on and we got someone else in that doesn’t need all this specialist treatment straight away.

So tired of these kinds of players.

Most of the greatest players we have had over the past decade were not great or even good in their first season.

Look I didn’t see anyone saying the same about Nkoudou, Njie, Janssen, Sissoko, Stambouli or evening Moura to be honest.
I’m pretty tired of it to be honest.
Most of them never showed fuck all, Ndombele has contributed to goals already and showed flashes of a top class player.

I’m not gonna excuse his fitness because he needs to do much better, but the talent is clearly there unlike most of the other names on that list.

No one looks good in Mourinho’s ancient tactics.

Nkoudou played 323 minutes in all competitions in his first season.
Ndombele is already on 1200 and the season isn’t over.

Im sick of people sitting here justifying writing off certain players who were not given a chance while blindly defending others because they may or may not come good in two years.

Njie played 386 minutes in his first season, missed 27 PL games through injury and was sold.

Did ONE person say “give him a chance to to recover”?

No. They just said he was shit.

Stambouli:
1600 minutes in his first and only season
Missed 12 PL games through injury
Benched and unused for a further 11 PL games
Played 90 minutes twice in the PL
Then he was sold.

Did anyone say give him a chance to get fit?
Nope

do you have stats on Dembele ? there was a season where he was inured all the time and bang average when he played a few games. Overwhelming opinion was to sell him before Pochettino showed faith in him and he evolved into the beast

I've said this from day 1.

He's an AM and nothing else.

Mourinho did say this though:

“I asked Mourinho a couple of days ago why after six months of the season, following a full pre-season, he still couldn’t rely on Ndombele to play 90 minutes and he simply said it was all the niggling little injuries that had messed up his fitness."

Tanguy has had hip, hamstring and groin injuries in the short space of time he's been with us. That combined with a new league and new speed to adjust to could easily act as a bigger hinderance to his progression both during games and during training than we know. Difficult to say without knowing the extent of it all.

All injuries one would encounter if you had Waddling Gait and the training schedule and conditioning was tailored precisely to adapt to this physiological nuance.

If they get him on the right exercises and don't place him in drill which excessively strain these areas of weakness, he will recover his Lyon levels as quickly as is possible.

Unfortunately this has not been picked up during the signing and scouting process, it appears, then he has been subjected to the Pochettino Boot Camp, when he is a delicate individual in core and lymph, due to this condition.

IMO, but I am deep, so you know, I know this shit intuitively...
