Do you often find yourself concerned about things that have no chance of happening? You're talking Bergwijn for 60-90M in 2-3 years time...I'd bet my right nut that won't happen. And beyond that there's the whole "right now" issue with Conte and our short term rebuild.

We've got no time to wait for Bergwijn to "come good" because A) we've seen enough to suggest it's more likely that Foyth will finally reach his potential at DM and take over for Busquets followed by thinktank thinktank bukkake-ing the whole board with "I told ya sos" than Berg being a success here no matter how much playing time we give him; B) we've got no time to waste waiting on a player whose ability suggests that even if he were to 'come good' it would still be average; and C) his contract situation (years) and leverage. He's been here 3 seasons now so probably only has 2 years and a option left. The specifics don't really matter but it's gotta be close to that. We are not going to extend him based on evidence so it's time to move him back to a league more to his level.
Oh, you have no idea....

That's hardly level 1.

You're a brave man, considering we inhabit a world where Paulinho went to Barcelona for €40M.

Romero + Molina right side

Bastoni + Peresic left side

Good pre-existing working relationship in both cases.

I've been meaning to pay specific attention to Molina when Argentina play. He's not very active in the final third, but he does seem have good composure.

The fact of the matter is that our squad is currently too big - So we need to sell before we buy any more players.

Rodon, Bergjwin, Lo Celso, Ndombele are clearly for sale.

Whiteman? Clarke? CCV? wont see any game time; so no reason to keep them in squad.

Winks, Tanganga - good enough as squad backup; but will be look to upgrade? Selling squad trained players feel like shooting ones self in the foot.

Association trained: Davies, Doherty, Rodon, Austin , Sessegnon, Clarke, Foster
Club trained: Kane, Winks, Tanganga, Whiteman, CCV, Skipp

Foreign: Royal, Bergwijn, Dier, Højbjerg, Lloris, Lo Celso, Moura, Ndombele, Reguilón, Sánchez, Son Heung-min, Romero, Golini, Kulusevski, Bentancaur, Peresic

U21:
excluded from squad count (Gil, Sarr)

Total : 28 (up to 25)
HOMEGROWN : 13 (min 8, minimum 4 must be club trained)
FOREIGN : 15 (max 17)

Since you have mentioned club trained, o assume this is for the champions league, in which case, Davies, Doherty and Rodon aren't association trained, they count as "foreign". Austin counts as club trained.

Also, Gil and Sarr aren't included on the U21 list, as the criteria is they have to have been at the club, not on loan, for 2 years.

Ah yes, the rules change in Europe.

Not sure what you mean by Gil and Sarr. Do you have a link to that rule?

What is clear, is that we need too add home grown players in this window if we expect to sell or loan Winks/Tanganga/Rodon/Clarke/CCV/Whitman.

And that is precisely why the links to Bale keep cropping up.

Would Djed Spece be considered home grown?

Yes, Spence would count as Association trained. Forster, who we have apparently signed but can't announce until 1st July, is also Association trained Home Grown.

Below is a link to the rule, it's in the section "What is List B?".

I've copied and pasted it below for anyone who can't be bothered clicking the link.

"A player may be registered on List B if he is born on, or after, 1 January 2000 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA – or for a total of three consecutive years with a maximum of one loan period to a club from the same association for a period not longer than one year."

PL has 10 June as to when the Transfer Window opens - ie when players can be registered at a new club even when their contracts run to 30 June. So 10 June or after is when English based players can be registered.

Sadly a number of international transfers can only be registered on/after 1 July.

That could make for a fairly lengthy delay for some transfers ...........

Doesn't really matter. It's only the date to register for a new club. We can buy players. They just can't play in a competitive match.

That's the team that got 4 points off us last season, yeah?

Technically we beat them 3-1 away. Ref and VAR just refused to acknowledge 2 goals.

Did somebody ask for yet another squad list ?

OS lists 29 1st team players. With Forster and Perisic added and Gollini removed that's 30.
