The HG rule is fucking retarded. The rule was implemented to ensure youth development, but instead stifles it. Because of the need for HG players, the bigger clubs retains and buys hygely talented players who aren't quite good enough to play for the best clubs yet. It inflates prices and hinders development.

The best advice to players when they are starting to get physically fit for mens football is to find a club at the highest level where they will get regular game time. Sitting on the bench and barely playing anything but non-competitive until they are 23-24 is not good.

Certainly doesn't sound as happy as a few days ago, but he does explicitly mention the fact that the younger players will need to step up, in the event we don't make any signings.

Poch is being pragmatic - whether the likes of Skipp etc. are ready or not we'll have to wait and see; ultimately that's down to the manager.

This reads like a bit of a kick up Levy's backside to me - he's too classy to throw his toys out of the pram à la Mourinho.

"Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce says Tottenham are "nowhere near" in their valuation of Jack Grealish"

James Maddison who was far better last year went for less than 25mil. If Villa are trying to milk 30m from us for some chav with a cunt's hairdo they can fuck off

I think more should be playing abroad. I still think the reason the likes of France brazil, Spain etc do so well at international football is because most of them play in Spain or England. The English players just stay on home soil. If only bale was English! He is the only british player to make it big in two top leagues. Young players need the education of a different league in a different country
