Thanks for all the wishes of good luck, much appreciated.
I managed to do my best Chamaeleon act, and didn't receive any adverse attention, although it was a bit hairy walking through ranks of angry looking Marseille youths, as I missed the shuttle buses, and went to the ground on foot.
I got home at around 10pm last night, after an epic journey of almost 11 hours, which involved a delay caused by the detonation of a suspicious package in Paris Garde du Nord station, of all things! Although that wasn't as loud as the bangs going off in the ground.
You all saw the game, so I won't go on about it, but when that winner went in, bodies were flying everywhere.
They kept us back for an hour, so luckily most of the toerags had moved away from the ground, and I walked back again, with no trouble.
Others weren't so lucky though, according to my mates.
One of my most interesting away days yet.
COYS!

God speed to the lad in the fluorescent orange shorts who was on top of the railings after Lenglets equaliser! Not exactly inconfuckingspicuous
Ha Ha. I thought to myself, it's easy giving it the big one, when you're getting ferried away from the ground in a coach, with a Police Escort.
However, a change clothes would've been a sensible post-match option.
There's no need for all of that carry-on, and I was cringing every time he climbed up the fence, and eventually onto the netting.
Imagine if it had given way, and he plunged into the home fans next to us 😱.

Out lethargy at that corner just typifies our lethargy in the game and our general lethargy under Conte.

It’s not just that Conte is pragmatic. You can be pragmatic but still be aggressive and energetic. We are just so fucking passive and lethargic - it actually isn’t conducive to the tactics Conte is applying.

We’ve got some fucking ordinary players, but Marseille aren’t exactly full of world beaters. You don’t have to be an outstanding footballer or team to show aggression, cohesion and energy - but you need a coach who wants that and can coach it.

Kane hailed the mentality of the team, but admitted there were some heated discussions at the interval in a changing room from which Antonio Conte — watching from the stands after his red card against Sporting Lisbon — was absent.

“There were a few words said by a few people at half-time, that we had to be more aggressive, have more intensity and I think we came out in the second half and did that,” Kane said. “Of course Hugo [Lloris spoke], being the captain, and Cristian [Stellini] and Ryan [Mason], who were obviously standing in for Antonio. We’ve been in that situation before this season, which we’re a little more used to than we want to be, but we weren’t panicking, which is the most important thing.”

Yeah! So we can both be glad that I'm not from Pforzheim, right!:sneaky:
That has to be a German joke, right? I am going to have to google Pforzheim now, aren't I? Thanks a lot! Life's too short to google Pforzheim. Grrrr

Might have been better if you, like President Kennedy, had been Ein Berliner! Yum yum!

We're going to get dicked in the next round against some tough opposition, a bit of me thinks it might have been better to drop to the Europa.

If only we can even out second half performances into the first half shit shows...

I am glad we're through tho but Christ on a bike, it's not a sustainable way forward.

Play Brian Gil Messi and not Royal. What do we have to do!

Do these results and performances mean that levy will get his cheque book out in January? We got Kulu and Bentancur last time, more of that pls!

I see your post got the 'respect' it deserved.

The elimination from Europe was the result of a misunderstanding in Marseille
Chancel Mbemba, who had unlocked the match against Tottenham, explains: "Nobody warned us that with the draw we were in the Europa League"

Crazy, after Marseille, PSG. Donnarumma: "Seconds because we didn't know ..."
The goalkeeper of the Parisian club admitted candidly after the 2-1 against Juve: "We didn't realize we had to score a goal again to close the group in first place."

In fairness, Benfica scored in the 88th and 90+3, so even late it seemed like 1-2 would be enough for PSG. By the time Benfica was 1-6, it was likely too late for PSG to communicate.

For Marseille, Frankfurt was 1-2 for a while so they really should have been a little more cautious in the last minute and not thrown away Europa league. But understandably, they wanted to stay in the UCL and played to win.

Heard this kind of thing a number of times in recent years though..........

It's a scary thought that players can be left so un-prepared even at the very top level.

Slight side note, was walking in Stratford today and as I was walking along I spotted a fellow fan and I knew it from just a few words, 'we were terrible in the first half'.

When you know, you know..
