And of course the elephant in the room - How in the fuck will we avoid a kit clash?
Good point.

Difficult game but hard to know what to expect from the barcodes.

They have a rake load of injuries particularly at the back so we need to attack them to best exploit them.

Have Hojberg and Bentancur played their way into the 11?

Richie if fit needs to start. Son on the left.

Brennan on the right, and give Werner and Kulu 20/30 mins to do what they can.

Vicario

Porro Romero VDV Udogie

Bentancur Hojbjerg

Maddison

Johson Richarlison Son

0-2 Spurs.

Yes.

Hojbjerg is the best option we have for the true DM role IMO - the others cant do it. The only problem is that with that you do get his more pragmatic use of the ball. But he will definitely shield the back 4 a lot better than any of our other options who are more box-to-box
The other problem is his lapses of concentration and bad passes or ball losses leading to opposition chances. But then again Bissouma is also doing at least once per 90 min so perhaps our shape leaves a very little margin for error in that position.
Hojbjerg deserves a start though, cannot question his professionalism lately and he looked in form on Sunday.

Before last seasons nightmare, our record was won 4. Drew 1. I expect us to get back to that and win. Timo will be up against Krafth. Left back is Hall, young lad on loan from Chelsea, hasn’t looked good. Only in because of injuries.
I prefer the 1230 kick offs away from home as it usually takes the first half for the game to get going. By that time we are 2-0 up. Harvey Barnes, if starting , could be a problem has scored a few against us cutting in from the left to put it in the far corner.

Start with the right team, be strong and go there with belief.

Aside from Gordon they ain't quick, do high line, press well, pass more crisply than yesterday and be clinical when chances present themselves.

A draw would be good.

A Draw is probably par and a win over achieving based on our recent away results Fulham & Spammers although Villa was also an over achievement. We are capable of any result due to our inconsistency. It seems that players that get subbed on in the 2nd half play better than starters because our 2nd half performances are so much better than the first half. Hojbjerg has done well on more than one occasion when coming on and deserves to start. I doubt Richie will be able to play 90 mins and so probably best he comes on in the 2nd half. Bents or Sarr is a tossup but whoever does not start will get on in 2nd half. With our forthcoming fixtures we need something out of this match. Let’s hope for another Villa result.

Newcastle were pretty poor for most of the Game against W.Ham, got lucky with the pen and took advantage, very average at the back and we should win this one
