The players who struggled with AVB's dogmatic tactics will be torn a new one by De Boer. He is decicated to his system (albeit quicker and more focussed to width than AVB), only FDB isn't such a nice guy as AVB was.

I remember De Boar abit as a player and he was quality but I haven't followed him as a manager at all but I do like the sound of that.

Not getting a "better" manager than AVB is a move in a disastrous direction.
Edgar Davids -player manager. He can wear #1 and tell the media- "Because I'm fucking Edgar Davids!" after every match.
Rijkaard's Holland and Barca teams were beautiful to watch. I remember that Euro 2000 Semi where Holland should have beaten Italy about 5-0 but somehow managed to lose on penalties (Spursy). On the other hand it seemed like he struggled with lesser players at Rotterdam (maybe not surprisingly as his brand of football needs gifted players) and early on with Barca. I also read this bit from a fan about his sacking from Gala:

Certainly displays the popular narrative (Spooky shout out). Journos around the world unite and dump on Spurs. I'm not paranoid- they did do this to Liverpool too a couple years back. It is something a new manager will have to take on as well however.
