I think that's just the world of Social Media today, I simply don't get it. In fact is he quite consistent doing things he can do such as forceful runs , winning 50 50s , and quite consistent failing in things that he is not good at , such as assisting or scoring
He has come on leaps and bounds this season. Had his best game against Swansea for me. His shooting is woeful but hey ho. All he can do his keep going the way he in and in ten years we'll have an ok player

Seeing as he has been largely played as a DM this year let's see how well (if stats is your preference to measure a player - not mine) with those other players who play at DM:
Winks - 1 assist 0 goals
Dier - 2 assists 0 goals
Dembele - 0 assists 0 goals
Wanyama - 0 assists 1 goal
Sissoko - 2 assists 2 goals
By your metric it makes him our best DM (I'm not saying he is).

His assists have surprised me a few times now I have seen him split the opposition defence with a pass and I didn't think he had that in him
I don't get it, how there seem to be many 'fans' who actually want to see him play badly just to confirm their prejudices. The same with Lamela, and Trippier. When any member of our squad pulls the jersey on, he gets my full support, and I want to see the best possible perform he can give. Not hope for a fuck up so the finger pointing and "I told you so's" can begin.

He's the joint 3rd highest played player this season in terms of appearances made. He's made 36 appearances for us, level with Kane. Only Son (39), Dele (37), Eriksen (37), Dier (37) have made more appearances.

to me - not being first choice pick = not being a key member of the team
if anything is clear, its that he is a useful substitute and gap filler, but he is not a first pick.
