Great point from Carragher here - if in ten years, when this team is no longer, who is to blame for a lack of trophies? Not the players; not the mangers - Daniel Levy and the board.
NB they will probably, and hopefully, have sold us by then

So a) same players & b) same manager + diff. board = c) trophies....

Assuming this is a sentiment routed in spending, then new players means 'a' has changed in the above equation.

Thus...

Flawed logic.

Both went to a richer team on better terms; thats just the financial pecking order coming into play.

Meanwhile neither player has managed to finish ahead of us.

Fuck Carragher & fuck the dippers.

It is bizarre that he says all this and Liverpool never finish above and haven't won a trophy

Money wasted to achieve nothing has become the new measure of success

No, no, we just need to spend more money on the same players......nothing he says relates to quality, just spending.

Bottom line, domestically, no club has proven a better way of financially punching above their weight at this level (unless you wanna try and quantify Leicester's fairtale)...

Unless Liverpool win the league this year any comparrisons to them (or any other team) remain moot:

8/10 finishes.
More CL qualifications.
Equally, no trophies in 10.
Similarly, a number of lost semis and finals.

According to Andy Goldstein, who has apparently talked to lots of Spurs fans, if Poch was to go these Spurs fans want Eddie Howe as the next manager
I'd take Howe or Silva, honestly. But Poch isn't going anywhere. Poch gave an honest answer and people are freaking out. A lot has gone against the club this season but we are still performing in the league. It's a rough patch and we are still solidly 5th in the table.

But that's for another thread.

One thing I never get is that:

Enic borrowing money to spend on the clubs infrastructure = unambitious
The Glazers borrowing money to leverage Utd = fine

They should've been so far ahead in World football with their turnover.

Oh yeah, I agree with you about Howe, I think he's a great manager.
My point was more on that cunt Goldstein "talked to a lot of Spurs fans"
Most Spurs fans would tell him to fuck off and then twat the cunt.

Listening to Talksport build up to tonight’s game slating 10 changes and us not taking the game seriously enough - seem to have completely overlooked the fact we played 48 hours ago - wankers!

Another slanted piece of opportunist journalism ....

Why Spurs fans are not turning up at Wembley this season

Yet when you look at the average EPL home attendances ...

Manchester United 74,474
Woolwich FC 59,927
Tottenham Hotspur 59,652

and remember our numbers are actual bums on seats, not just tickets sold .... the Emptycrates was at best two-thirds full last night, they will still claim 58,000 regardless ....

People also forget to take into account the amount of season ticket holders that have taken up the refund per match option without doing themselves out of a season ticket long term. The attendances are just fine when you weigh up the bulk of fans that are exercising their right to skip a few matches here and there. No biggy

Funny BT have Jim Beglin on commentary, Michael Owen and Steve McManamam (all Liverpool) for the Liverpool game, all complaining about decisions and calling a wonder goal by Red Star a BAD goal, while they put Robbie Savage and Rio Ferdinand on Spurs game, Savage laughing at Tottenham's frustrations and sticking up for valid penalty appeals waved away by another rotten official.

They also showing lots of pictures of Dutch fans and "Fletch" is basically cheering them on.

For once I agree. Savage is a joke.

Criticize Liverpool? no way, a defeat is just a step to success ... cue the media report

"Exactly 45 years ago today, Liverpool suffered a second consecutive 2-1 defeat to Red Star Belgrade that was later cited as vital to their subsequent domination of Europe

It is often said that the lessons from that European Cup second-round humbling at the hands of the Serbian champions laid the foundations for the Reds lifting the trophy for the first time three-and-a-half years later

And so, with an away game against Paris Saint-Germain up next and progression in the balance, Klopp will at least hope that this defeat - and mostly importantly the manner in which it was delivered - is timely if nothing else"

So playing utter shite and losing, ignore that, it's just a step to their inevitable world domination ... you might expect that from the Liverpool Echo .. but this is from the feckin' Evening Standard ....
