Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Rangers supporter here, hope you don’t mind me sneaking in . Spurs have been my English team since the days of Ozzie, Waddle and Hoddle. In my opinion you are probably the last real big English club, untainted by foreign cash and play football the way it should be played.
Your club have a lot of friends at Ibrox and it was a real pleasure hosting you guys.. and no this is not some birthday card crap but a genuine heartfelt thanks from me (at least) as a far away fan to see my team against my “other” team.
I genuinly believe you now have everything in place to take the next step and win those trophies you have been so very close to winning in the past few years.
Good luck to you for the season ahead and hopefully it’s not too long until we play again.

Enjoyed that.
Couldn't get into the Rhoderich Dhu pub before the game, so went to the stadium early.
Spoke to a couple of supporters outside, who turned out to be ralphcoatesstylist ralphcoatesstylist and his lovely wife.
Swapped my seat so a dad could sit with his young son. When I got to my place, the tallest guy in our end was in the row in front of me. Thank goodness he moved away, as I wouldn't have seen a thing.
With regards to the game, I was just pleased to see us playing again. H took his goals like the top class striker that he is. Cuti made two tackles that were bone crunching but legal - disappointed that the ref thought otherwise. Everyone else did just fine, considering we're only halfway through pre-season.
The atmosphere was great to start with, but they were very quiet second half, apart from that infernal drum beating.
I definitely am not cut out to stand for 90 minutes anymore, so will be glad to get back to my normal seat in a couple of weeks.
Glad to see Antonio and the players come over to us at the end and that we didn't make a big thing about accepting the trophy.
All in all, an enjoyable day. Off to bed now and Edinburgh tomorrow.

It's insane forming an opinion on any of our signings (or any of our players for that matter) after that.

Perisić had little to do and he did it OK. Bissouma had a bit more to do and he was OK. Spence had little to do and he did OK and in one case he did well. Lenglet had little to do and he did OK. Forster had little to do and he did OK. Richarlison had more to do and looked more "incorporated" and basically did OK.

It was a more or less meaningless pre-season friendly and everyone did OK. I'm mystified as to how people are drawing any kind of conclusions from the game.

We reached the europa cup final. We have won 1 European cup 55 league titles and fk knows how many cups. What had spurs won ?

55 league titles in a league equivalent to division 2 🤣😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Spurs have won…

2 league titles (proper league titles)
8 fa cups
4 league cups
7 FA community shields
1 European cup winner cup
2 Uefa cups
Walter Trull Memorial trophy…😘

So fuck off Celtic reserves

Conte likes confident players. Spence hit the ground running, looked instantly at home - in no way overwhelmed by being amongst top-class PL players.

I have a soft spot for Sessegnon but you still get the sense he's nervous and therefore cautious. It's almost like he's got imposter syndrome, maybe he just doesn't believe in himself as a PL player.

We aren't going to see that with Spence. He's got self-confidence coming out of his arse, will take players on in a way Sess is too scared to, is fast and skilful on the ball, and also nicely aggressive in the press. Very Conte package.

Plus, as we ought to be comparing pears with pears - he already looks like an absolutely intergalactic upgrade on poor old Royal.

Despite being originally reluctant to fork out £35 it is turning out to be the best £35 I’ve spent in a long time - would highly recommend it to any spurs fan - loads and loads of interviews and documentaries spurs related.
Highlights and full match replays - extensive previous season reviews (over 2 hours long) I’m loving it!
Daniel, is that you?

Re Hearts I pointed this out a few years back. Their manager got poached by and he walked out for....MK Dons.

It's not the clubs' fault, the Scottish Leagues get buttons in terms of TV revenues. The Old Firm matches must get sold around the anglophone world so the Scots and esp Irish diasporas get their fix, but I reckon that most watch on streams.

It's hard now to recall how big Scottish football was at one stage. The late 60's for instance:

1967 - Celtic win the European Cup . Incredible, all the players bar one grew up around the corner from Parkhead. The exception grew up 30 miles away;

1967 - Scotland beat WC winners England 3-2 at Wembley;

1970 - Celtic knock Leeds out of Euro Cup semi. The crowd? 137,000. Had to hold it at Hampden.

1937 - Scotland v England at Hampden, 149,000.

1937 - Scottish cup Final Celtic v Aberdeen, 147,000

1939 - Rangers v Celtic, 118,000, record League crowd

Not just professional football.

The Junior Cup? 1951 - 77,000 went to Petershill v Irvine Meadow

In the late 1980's the game had an artificial boost when English clubs were banned from Europe, Rangers and Celtic bought players from English clubs. Temporary of course.

TV has created such a gap now between the English and Scottish leagues. The EPL has been a phenomenal financial success. SPL only has Rangers and Celtic, a poor man's Spanish League. The Old Firm's only chance would be to join the English leagues and wait till they could get promotion to the EPL, but it won't happen. If they could, they could eventually compete for top 4 and titles, the size of their respective fan bases is enormous.

Final note on those massive crowds in the cash-only era. Clubs would routinely under-report the size of crowds so as to evade tax.

Some of the of the old Hampden photos are insane. I would love to time travel and experience those crowds.
