Why?

His argument was that 70k per year was fake new unless he got the breakdown.

I just gave him an example of a couple making 7k per month.

So I was proved right, that benefits aren't capped at 20k.

It wasn't a couple, it was a family of 10 people, you idiot. You don't appear to even know the details of the article you posted.

Here are the sums, as you don't seem to be able to do them:

£7k x 12months = £84k

£84k divided by 365 = £230 a day

£230 a day divided by 10 people is £23 each.

So, these people, if the article is to be believed, were living on £23 each per day, for food, clothes etc. Hardly a King's ransom, is it? I'd say it was just about right in this day & age.
