As I stated in my very first post on the subject, I agree that the policy needs changing. However, if it violates Human rights, (not infringes, violates) then the policy is wrong and needs changing so that it doesn't.
I accept your position on ensuring that these people aren't drowning, but how is a policy going to prevent these people from continuing to take that risk when they're getting into these boats in another country?
All of that is superfluous to the original discussion though. There was anger at Lineker comparing the language used to that used in 1930's Germany. He is correct in that. There's ample examples to back that up, so I'm not going over old ground there.

The national socialists were a socialist movement regardless of what the left may stress today. The Nazi manifesto was clearly socialist and any numbskull can find it on line. The policies were implemented in 33 rendering the country bankrupt by 36. Hitler attacked "capitalism" in public over 400 times. He attacked socialism in private conversations when trying raise money by releasing the equity in previously private ventures which had gone bankrupt in 29/30 and which had been bailed out. So he don't even privatise as has been lied about by the academic left for decades.

So in an economic sense the Nazis were clearly left wing. If you also like the 1790s french definition you could say they were right but you'd be a fucking uneducated cretin.

It was a stunt - a lie, a con. Hitler courted the rich industrialists and upper classes, and did a deal with the centre/right groupings in government for support to crush the socialists and communist threat to the ruling classes.
The Nazis first targets were trade unions, then socialists and communists. Hence, you know.... the famous poem.

Hitler made a deal with German industrialists whilst sending trade unionists to the camps. The "socialist" in the Nazi identifier was marketing, as without at least pandering to socialism at that time in Germany, he wouldn't have been able to garner enough support amongst working class Germans. But it was a misnomer, as is the 'Democratic' in the DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea aka North Korea). The merger of government and corporate power is fascism - I didn't say that as an original thought, Mussolini said it. Fascism is considered a (far) right wing ideology, as far as I know.

Of course historical revisionism matters. Not only because we owe it to the victims of the Nazis to report accurately on what they were subjected to and why (In many cases, murdered & tortured due to being left wing) but so we can learn from the past & how evil and twisted the far-right are.
And far-right they absolutely were. Dedicated to a strict racial, nationalistic hierarchy and traditionalist ideals (such as views on homosexuality & women) and in its early years all the parties aligning themselves to the Nazis were right wing.
