Almost as tragic as your perception that I have a United agenda.......
Had Chambers followed Pocchettino rather than gone to Woolwich, he'd have been a top player now; his initial performances there in central defence were top quality.
Both halves of North London couldn't be more polarised in terms of the development of young British talent; the Emirates is a graveyard for it and has been for the past 15 years, whereas Pocchettino has created an Anglo-accommodating environment in which they can flourishes, reminiscent of the one Ferguson forged at United. That's why I'm confident Shaw and Chambers could retain the career trajectories they had as teenagers at Southampton if reunited with him.
Chambers is the most natural defender out of himself, Stones and Dier; under the right coach he could eclipse both of them. He's had something of a resurrection at Middlesbrough, and is only just 22.
Dier is a very good midfield players, but there's huge scope to upgrade him in a defensive context.
I'd even switch him and Wanyama, as the latter has better defensive awareness, lacks Dier's passing ability in the centre of the pitch and seems to subdue Dembele.
