Perhaps if he "runs forward with the ball" a bit, occasionally "gets in the box" people will get off his case.

After all, it worked for Sissoko.

In truth I don't see any issue with Alli that signing a new contract and greater efforts on his part to stop playing up to his image won't put right.

I would also say that Southgate's comments, not just on Alli but England are possibly designed to reduce or limit heightened expectation. Maybe a clever move.

As a nation we do have quality players but certainly none that I feel would walk into a world cup squad of 22 players, including Kane at this stage.

Totally mate

Kane is no Lukaku

Rose not fit to lace Blinds boots am i right?

I don’t currently disagree with the sentiment, but when Southgate is calling Dele out like that, it must be gutting coming from such a shite coach. No wonder Southgate is so shite if he can only watch one player at a time during scouting runs.

As I’ve said on another thread Southgate shouldn’t be anywhere near our national side

Unbelievable

Is this a genuine quote or just this twats opinion?
Southgate is unable to coach senior players constructively-we see this in every game England play. Has Allis form dipped-NO. Opposition are more aware of him so stifle his game. Because he's young and still a novice, he needs to find more form his game and develop new ways of playing. Its all about potential, which Alli has loads. Some players you just know will never improve on what they do. Alli is a thinker, good attitude and at a great club wth coach to develop. England will not bring him on and never will. Southgate is not the coach to bring the best out of him, Poch is. Alli will shine and be the player we all expect form him.

Let’s hope Southgate doesn’t ruin Winks!

That means England’s have never had any big players at all since 1966.

Shearer, Rooney, Hoddle, Lineker, Gazza, Robson, Shilton, etc , etc all won fuck all for England.

One semi final off our own turf ever.

These are the scenarios for the Russian WC
We will fail to get out of the group
We will just get out of the group .......
Then fall at the next hurdle.

We will not play as good as we can and be shut out by lesser teams.
Kane will be criticised if he is Captain.
If Henderson is, he won’t.

Southgate will get sacked or resign.

The is one other. there will be a lot of trouble as our fans are targeted and respond.
FIFA will threaten us with expulsion if any more incidents. We play really well, piss the group, Cruise the KO stageand face Russia in the semis on a high....and then get kicked out by FIFA

England has never been a measure of how good a player can be.....Barnes, Hoddle, Waddle, Le Tissier, Beardsley among the best this country has ever produced yet none reflected that level for England. Maybe too good for that era who knows?

I couldnt care less how well our players do for Southgate to be honest. The last time I got excited about England was around 2006

England always put there best players or fav players instead of players in each position to make the team fluent and sucessful

We took a 16yr old Walcott to the cup, who had never kicked a PL ball and had sat on arsenals bench between January when they signed him and the 2006 tournament.

At the expense of Jermaine Defoe who had scored 22 goals the previous season.
Then Rooney got injured in the first game, and Walcott was never once used anyway.

The same shit playing Lampard and Gerrard together just because no on had the bollocks to drop one.

And how we all laughed :)

It was around that time that I lost interest in the England set up. Not cos it was JD that missed out, but the blind fucking incompetence of it all.
Unsuitable players for specialist roles, rudderless navigation from the top.
Taking “talisman” players carrying injuries became popular around then too. I pay passing interest only these days, & that’s only when spurs players are involved. Otherwise, it just doesn’t have any appeal at all & I can’t wait for it all to be over & to get back to the league.

The bollocks to drop them or the intelligence to find a way of playing them both together. Either way it was a lack of something that prevented them both from being able to play together

That was disgusting. To give him a taste of full international tournaments, as of course someone had a crystal ball and saw that he would be an England superstar madman regular for years to come . Probably the Woolwich Chairman.
Woolwich had their fingers deep into the FA,with Dein. Was Vice Chairman Of FA until 2004.
Dein brought Sven in for England- who was the manager- , and McClaren.
Must have been him ( also had their physio working there too and used their training ground from 2003 ) that was instrumental in getting them to take Walcott formDefoe,
Coincidentally he was removed from the FA board in June 2006 just before the WC straight after the newsnight programme that accused his club of breaking transfer and loan regs with Beveren of Belgium.

[formation=41212, Robbo, Trippier, Dier, Dawson, Rose, Carrick, Winks, Carrol, Alli, Kane, Defoe][/formation]

subs: Naughton, Crouch, Livermore, Walker, Townsend, Lennon, Onomah

Play as a diamond in the middle with Carrick holding, Winks and Carrol in the centre and Alli behind Kane and Defoe.

Keeper and Cb was a stretch, as would have to lure Robbo out of retirement and Daws from the championship, but the rest would make me care about England again.

Gareth Southgate is a typical FA choice. Will never do something that's not PR friendly but will never win you anything due to his lack of astuteness. The FA are so up themselves they cause the majority of our nations footballing problems. Gareth should be managing a team like Wycombe not the national team. astonishing really that the lack of talent available for this job is so scarce. Our national team has become a Championship side

I actually thought getting Allardyce was clever for the FA. He has a great record, one of the best in the PL given resource at his disposal and is a master at getting the best out of shit players. The job he did with Sunderland for example was remarkable.

Allardyce does a fuck up and the FA basically show no mercy. Problem is he is perhaps the only talented manager who realistically England could get to make us half decent in a tournament but he is a bit dodgy.

Southgate seems a nice guy but it just looks like another Hodgson on the way.
