Three summers ago? He was injured when selling time came and was never the same since. The club rewards playing with substantial bonuses funny the minute he wasn’t in receipt of these playing bonuses his mouth went into overdrive. Other players went through and recovered from injury stints. Danny was being underpaid just before his sabbatical he was offered and SIGNED an improved contract, yes the club wanted to keep him but he was quite happy with what was on offer.
The unfortunate comments are reoccurring, are his mental health issues the reason why his performance is generally under par? If so maybe he should be good to himself and move on be it from Spurs or football altogether.
Listen I loved the guy and hated the grief he got but he also received enough praise from all quarters of ‘the crowd’ to realise us football fans are fickle tossers.

Problem is he's still easily our best left back (full back in general) so who's gonna play in his place? Form isn't great but he's not under threat as we don't have anyone coming through and haven't bought anyone decent.

Don't agree at all.
He has said he is seeing out his contract, yet people are calling him scum and all sorts of silliness, you can think it misguided and silly, but scum and 'get out of the club' comments are worse than what Danny has/is saying, to me.
I like his gusto and honesty, albeit it is poorly advised often.
