The first challenge by Romero was a possible red card. He got the benefit of the doubt.
The second challenge in my view didn’t warrant a yellow card (much less a red!) or a penalty. He was just hoofing the ball from the danger zone and caught the guy with his follow through.
This was the pivotal moment in the game and screwed us. Personally I think Spurs should appeal the red card. We can’t change the result and therefore we’ve suffered enough.

Seems clear over the years that Maddison is simply one of those players that will miss weeks or even months every season. Has to be factored in to the squad construction.

He is elite but he is no leader. We need another levelheaded CB that can lead the backline. So a 3 man rotation with VDV coming back would be ideal.
Then have a squad that can cope with that. We’re the 9th richest football club on the planet. That’s not unrealistic to expect.

That's what he is. A good but overrated footballer that provides a few laughs and clattering moments here and there. Would be good to bring off to back up VDV and a quality CB signing this January or next summer.

Leader of the backline should always be composed. He made 2 blunders that led to goals against goons and he got a straight red against the chavs... 2 of the biggest games of the season yea?
Jan and Toby were model defenders and Romero needs someone like them to keep him in his place. We all acknowledge he is a very skilled player but he kind of goes off too much for the backline to be stable.
If VDV were older he would make a better captain than Romero.
