The type of statement you like to hear from the manager of the player you’re signing:

“Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper paid a touching tribute to the attacker he has helped develop.

"Whilst we’re obviously going to miss Brennan and the memories he’s given so many of us when he’s lit up the City Ground on the right wing, we’re extremely proud of him and we’re pleased that he’s got this move as he enters the next stage in his career," he said.

"Everyone knows how great he is on the pitch, but what many people don’t see is the kind, humble and genuine young man he is off it. He was always learning, always showed great humility and had a superb nature in the way he interacted with his teammates and staff.

"All credit must go to his family especially his mum and dad, Alison and David, who should be so proud of the incredible young man they have raised. He will be missed by everyone, but he will always be a Red."

Some of the people being pessimistic about Vicario after 90 minutes are making the exact same mistake with Johnson.

Why not give him 10 games before feeling anything negative?

Welcome Brennan!

Good luck to you. There will be a small minority who will be on every single touch, misplaced pass, poor cross and mis-hit shot because you weren't who they wanted and you cost a bit of money. But the rest of us will sing your name if you work hard.

Excited to see what he can do. One of the quickest footballers in the league and we've lacked real pace up there for a while.

Hope you treat him well, unlike Spence.

In all seriousness, I’m glad he’s gone to Spurs because at least you’re entertaining to watch and not a graveyard for talent like Chelsea.

Brennan is a great pro and a nice kid, as well as a super talent.

At the back of his mind, he’ll be thinking he can become the new Steve Hodge and return to the World Famous City Ground to win some silverware after a couple of years in a Tottenham shirt.

Good luck!

This is not a dig against Brennan Johnson but is a footballer giving 150 meals to charity the equivalent of me giving a bag of crisps to charity?

I really hate comparisons like this. It’s pathetic and pointless.

If he didn’t give 150 meals to charity, that would be 150 less meals they’d have, no matter what you try to equate it to.
