It's just dawned on me... WE'RE the bad guys aren't we?
The club I have supported all my life, and invested both financial and emotional fortune into ARE FUCKING ROTTEN!

we have been for 10 years shy of HALF a century....

This isn't all on Levy (though much of it is)

Burkinshaw called it in 1984 FFS:
"There used to be a football club over there"

The rot started with Scholar, passed on to Sugar, and now is in the very incapable hands of Levy....

We've been this club for coming up 40 years!!!

Meanwhile, you know who have gone about their business, picking up trophies and gloatingly lording it over us the whole time....
Even the last few years were just a relative 'blip' for them... Yet they STILL picked up a few FA Cups along the way... and now look set to return to the top table in spectacular, nose rubbing, nauseating fashion!

Their 'South London Derby' against Palace on Sunday will be the stroll in the park that Southampton shoulda been yesterday with 12 minutes remaining at 3-1 up!

We have a cunt owner...
and for now, a Cunte of a coach....

We really are a cunt of a club right now.
I think you’re being a tad dramatic.

Conte is only saying what we've all been saying for 5 years.

Management has let the team get old and has let the talent level decline.

Through 4 managers since the CL final they still not adequately reinforced the team.

They've used the new stadium as an excuse not to invest.

They bring in big name managers and then don't give them the players required.

They only ever seem to be bargain hunting during transfer windows, and when they do occasionally spend on a player it goes to an Ndombele and it all goes horribly wrong.

Our captain is over 35 years old. We've got 2 regularly in the 11 who joined the team nearly 9 years ago and it's not because they're legends

We have let the most pivotal players on the team walk away and never replaced them. They don't even try to find a creative midfielder. Dembele became beleaguered by injuries in 2016-17 and Eriksen has been gone for 3 years with no serious effort to replace them

We've jokes in boots at the back apart from Romero, who sometimes isn't fit and accumulates too many cards

Most of the rest would be more at home on sides happy to play mid-table football.

Yet it's the same chairman since 2001, who will do the same thing again. Change the manager, expect him to turn water into wine.

It's a shite state of affairs, Tommy.

Poch wasn't sacked cos he "Failed to make CL" either.
In part he was, I did not add the bits in the middle though, was given no budget, was given no players, was not allowed extra youth - that was sold from under him, then had a bad run (that looked as though we would not make CL), all of the above exasperated and frustrated him, the team and their ambitions and it showed on the pitch.

This is all so sketchily mashed together on your part.

There was no suggestion of Poch being sacked prior to the 19/20 season. At which point:

He'd just spent a bunch of money.
We'd just qualified for the CL for the 4th time in a row.

Who are all these young player sold from under him???

Well the Genie is now well and truly out of the bottle. I don't like Conte's football or his sulky manner, but well said sir.

By jove, well said.

There is a simple view I take when faced with a deteriorating situation. If you are not part of the solution, you have to be, however you want to dress it up, absolutely have to be, part of the problem.
And that Mr. Levy is the question you have to answer.
Conte knows what he is doing playing this gane. By making those comments his deflecting all the shit results and performances away from himself. Basically his creating a divude in the fan base as well as between the fans as a whole and the club. Now everyone os patting him on the back instead of kicking him up the backside and out of the club.
It was only the other week he was going on about the club know his thoughts and situation. Also he knew the history and everything else before joining. His beef is we haven’t spent £500M on dross players for his boring style of football.

For me, I felt that Sheffield Unite away was a tough game. They have some Premier League players left, they were top ( or close to top ) it was a big game with national coverage.

Nothing I have seen in the past 5 years would tell me that Dier / Davies and Sanchez were the right picks when all things were considered, I don’t know why Conte / Stelini picked them three, especially when it was against Billy Sharpe. One of the many things that this club seems to confuse me with.
But SU made 8 changes and hardly played a full strength side. We had a strong side apart from Kane and Romero.

Fair play to him for speaking out , deflection ? Who cares . It’s a reality , previous managers have been here & probably been too polite . The club is apathetic, an afterthought .

He’ll go , someone will come in & we’ll be here again in 18 months , people will blame the manager yada yada

I don’t see the point of employing a manager until Levy resigns as CEO of the FC. Nothing will change, I mean it may do slightly (marginally better or worse) but we will never compete. He has to stand down and employ a CEO now and either sell his stake or take a passive role like Lewis

Surely even his family, friends and advisors are taking the piss out of him for overseeing another car crash, or does the mental midget live in an echo chamber
We have a DOF who is also responsible and contes mate. Couldn’t they have resolved issues with player attitudes and so on? Conte is all well and good having about the players and club but what has he done for his £15M to improve the situation? His lack of respect and taking ownership is beyond belief. As I said before he could have had this rant after any game in the last 3 months. Didn’t do it last week after beating forest did he. He keeps saying he has hidden it until know. Well if his known about it for a long time then surely he should have done something about it. Todays rant seems calculated and timing as we now have 2 week break. A lot of the players will head off for international duty. His a coward!

Now all the ranting has cooled down; can anyone see if Conte offered any suggestion of solutions?

.........Any hint of what he told the board he wanted if he was going to stay?

(He's told us multiple times that the board know what he wants is he's to re-sign)
Yes this is conte all over. Complains and throws everyone under the bus except for himself and his coaching team including the free kick specialist who lets lane take every free kick and hit it into the wall.
Has offered no solution s to the hidden problems he knows about just pathetic football and trying to make a point. We can’t beat SU unless you invest £500M on new players. He doesn’t even coach the team. His tactics don’t require coaching. All he says is everyone het back to our 18 yard line and just stand around. Don’t press , challenge or prevent crosses. Look at the their 2nd goal no attempt is made to prevent intial cross.

How many managers? 15 in 20 years? There you have your answer. No stability. Much easier to sack the manager than an entire squad of players. There has been one constant in all of that time. Levy didn't back Poch once the stadium was complete. Didn't really back Mourinho. Nuno hung out to dry. And although Conte has spent money his budget has been limited. Beyond that look at who they have bought. Ndombele, Lo Celso, Reguillon, Sanchez, Richarlison, Spence and others. Not one of them has improved the team. Three have gone. Wasted money. The recruitment has been worse than useless. The manager's office has a revolving door. When you look at Woolwich, three managers since 1996. Stability and success. Conte was right with everything that he said. The players are to blame. And the arrogance of the fans almost demanding success when the club is miles away from anything like it.

Whether you want him to manage us or not, whether you like his formation and or selections , what he said was bang on. It needed to be aired, and seems he's not fussed about the consequences.

Personally, I think he speaks for the overwhelming majority of supporters.
That’s his plan though to get fans on his side and blame everyone else for bringing on Sanchez when you need a goal in CL KO game. Has he even looked at his own record in Europe with all his clubs? It’s truly appalling for a so called elite manager. He can’t rant about the club all he wants but his ultimately responsible for results, playing style, squad maintenance , training and everything else football related. On that front he has failed miserably. Everyone wanted him gone last week and couldn’t stand his football. Now his a hero. This pure conte. There is a word for it but can’t think of it right now. However it is genius on his part. Manufactures a sacking with pay off and all the fans anger will be on the club rather than his pathetic attempt to coach a team to play football. Fraud!

He is the manager of the club, not just the first team.
This may seem like a technical point but why did he name 2 GKs on the bench for a UCL game?
Why did he twice pick two fewer substitutes than he is allowed on two occasions?
Because he couldn't be bothered with players he ain't gonna pick.
Why did he kick out Doc like he was a piece of shit?
Players are human beings and his man management skills are not exactly shining through.
Great post!

I had a similar argument with another poster on here.

For once this season we look dangerous from set pieces. This has papered over the cracks of our attacking play. The irony is that we scored 3 goals from open play today, but on the other hand we were playing the bottom team in the league who were defensively open and also had their 2 main CBs go off from injury with maitland-niles filling in at CB.

I'm genuinely interested to see where in the goals scored table we would be if you looked at open play only.
One was just a cross by kulu which can be hit and miss. The other was after a corner I think and the ball came out to peri who hit the ball into the ground. So not really any great attacking play with passing and moving to create chances. We barely mustered anything in the 2nd other than the two goals. Don’t think their goalie had to make a save. How many times have we said that this season after ganes!

Whoever you think is right, an elite manager should be able to put together a team from this squad of players that is capable of not getting knocked out the cups by Middlesbrough, a second string Sheffield United and a weak AC Milan who were poor over 180 minutes.

What does he think 15 mil a year is for if its not to improve the team.

His comments may be right, but they totally disregard that he is at fault as much as anyone over his tenure. He hasn't coached a team, he's just picked his favourites in the hope that they'd come good.

In what world is subbing on Sanchez for Kulusevski against Milan with 5 minutes left when we're desperate for a goal, with a hungry Danjuma on the bench...... In what world is that not his fault.
