Also people won't like this but Hojbjerg is probably our best 8 and if Ange sets up playing like he normally plays then I can see him getting plenty of game time.
He is definitely not. Hojbjerg will either be too busy pointing or his other move is turn his back to the player and let him run past him to press. Bissouma is our most reliable 8 and we would need to sign another midfielder with a goal threat.

I think even Alfie Devine and Pape Mata Sarr are more suitable to play as a No 8 in an Ange Postecoglu system than Hojbjerg. If someone is willing to pay money for him he should be given serious thought whether we should sell him especially since he is 28.

He most definitely is he has the profile of a number 8, he arrives late in the box and can pop up to score goals, there's a misconception with him that he's a defensive player but going forward he's very effective.

People just don't rate him because he doesn't pass the eye test and he's not technically sound which is cool but he could 100% play in an Ange team and take advantage of the half spaces.

I mean actually thinking that is factual, Jesus Christ

A player that can’t turn on the ball or play under pressure is zero use to an attacking manager like this bloke. If he is loony enough to start the Danish bluffer, he will be quickly sacked - the prick has seen three managers sacked due to his faux effort

I actually agree with a lot of this. Said many times he’s the worst DM in the PL, I stand by that. He’s not the worst 8 and defintely his best position but not for me at Spurs

To play 8 you need to be able to receive the ball in tight spaces and play on the half turn,

Hoj passes it back where it came from if he’s under the smallest amount of pressure.

If he’s facing forward and has time to relax and make a decision, Hoj can contribute to the attacks.

Same for winning the ball in the press, if he sees the play in front of him he can make good reads. If you need him to be agile and change direction to pressure the dribbler, no chance.

He’s a good player for Italian football but never a Spurs CM. We’ve been too spoilt with incredible CMs

Problem is his inconsistency in passing and only this season did he get 4 goals previously he has got 2 goals in each season. The other problem is his reading of the game is awful.

He's been playing in a 2 man midfield where he's been told to hold position for the most part so his stats won't look great.

I actually think him and Bentancur would be good no8's with Skipp/Bissouma playing behind them.

So what? He improved Hoffenheim tremendously, improved Leipzig, did well at Bayern… that’s way above anything Postecoglou achieved in Kangaroo and Scottish leagues.
Naglesmann is one of the highest rated young managers out there and has just had his dream job of Bayern Munich mysteriously blow up for no reason. He is a sensational young manager and yes would have been a great appointment but Levy's mismanagement in recent years has meant that Naglesmann would never take the job.

We explored the hiring of Naglesmann but he told us no. The fact is whatever club he joins next will be have to be carefully thought out because he cannt fail and need to keep his rep intact.

The reason Brendan Rodgers has not yet been appointed was because Levy knew there would be protests inside and outside the stadium, before during and after all the remaining league fixtures.

This would have undermined Rodgers from the off and these things can gather pace.

Rodgers will be appointed before the end of June.

There will be anger but this will be limited to internet forums and youtube histrionics.

About a week after Rodgers arrives several players will sign for Spurs.

Maddison & Barnes and the Brentford goalkeeper.

The universal dismay about Rodgers being appointed will now begin to fracture.

The happy clapper, replica shirt wearing, client reference numbers, who renewed on time, will begin to mumble about things 'not being too bad' after all.

One Hotspur memberships and season ticket renewals / purchases will increase at this point.

Levy will watch the numbers.

There may be further incoming transfers if Levy thinks it will sell Rodgers and more tickets to the less militant and 'moderate' clientele.

He may get away with it to.

Can we address this mess, what the fuck was all this about? 😆

Hopefully this clears things up nicely.

I can't believe it's not Brendan Rodgers.
