A sad indictment of what this club has become under these greedy bastards

It’s telling that I wasn’t even that angry at the performance and result because it’s just so predictable. It will never change while the same fuck wits like Eric dier, Davidson Sanchez and Ben Davies are playing for us.

Any lingering doubts about whether Forster is good enough have surely been put to bed as well.
Harsh on Forster

I'd much prefer to be still in the cup at this stage than the last eight of a competition that we have virtually no hope whatsoever of winning .The team last night while carrying a lot of duds still with the right attitude should have pulled through . It's mad players that have won nothing are complacent facing any team .

Combinations of these players have beaten City, Chelsea and West Ham in recent weeks.

Stellini said after the game it's a mentality issue and they they thought they just had to turn up.

Sounds like it is on the players somewhat.

This "lesser opposition" thinking saw us lose to Wolves, Brighton, Southampton before we went on a long run to get top four. Lose to "inferior" teams in three out of four competitions under Conte.

Of course the manager picks the team, and we can talk all day about Conte's wank and inflexible tactics, but these players should have offered more and turned up. They didn't.

Yes, combination of the players did beat those teams. But team fighting on multiple fronts cannot rely on 11 players. We were short on creativity before the transfer window, but our brilliant coaching staff decided to axe one of the two creative sparks and bring in another finisher.

Yesterday this was precisely what was missing. Someone who would be comfortable with ball on his feet and who could feed the teammates. In mentioned City, Chelsea, West Ham games we had Kulusevski. But he cannot play 100% of the minutes. Gil would have been good alternative to start over Son. But we decided that "fuck it, we don't need creativity. Defenders and attackers are enough - just kick it straight from defense to attackers and hope ball falls to feet of finishers who can then shoot". No plan for anything inbetween really.

But better than now

In what way?!

We have won 2 games out of 2 in the league since the knockout stages in the Champions League started. One being a great performance at home to our rivals Chelsea.

It took 7 games after the knockout stages in 2019 to muster up two wins and those were against a Palace team fighting relegation and a Huddersfield team who were one of the worst teams the league has ever seen.

We are performing alot better in terms of league form than we were back then. That's a simple fact.

Point being. We got to a Champions League final despite probably being the worst team to actually get there when it comes to league form and position. And theres no real reason to think we can't do it again if we can get lucky draws and favourable decisions like that run.

I mean, it's unlikely. But it's not impossible.

Sorry that makes no sense to me. It's not Levy;'s fault that Richarlison's shot nearly went out for a throw in.

We have better players than Sheffield Utd, it's just that they don't often gel. together. It's not levy's responsibility to ensure that they do is it?
I've seen so many posts like this of people saying "Levy doesn't pick the team" "Levy's not coaching the players" you are all missing the point.

The point is, this club is set up to get us into the top four, that's the target Levy is setting managers, it was in Levy's statement to the trust and you see it every single season in the cup competitions when we rest players.
The club isn't set up to win trophies, it's set up to do just enough to get top four and stay on the gravy train.

Kane will start against Wolves because winning that game and taking a step closer to the top four is ALL that this board is interested in.

Levy has presided over how many managers now? How many players have come through the revolving door?

And no trophies to show for his tenure.

This club is set up to make up the numbers and when those big European nights roll around all Levy can hear is clinking sound of the cash registers in the bars and club shop.

No. We were an absolute mess in the 2nd half of that season and the start of the next. All over the shop and lacking the physical intensity of the earlier Poch teams - possibly because of that intensity, in the same way that Bielsa teams eventually fade.
People only remember the CL campaign of that run. That's not uncommon the more removed we become from it. People forget the defeat away to Burnley or getting knocked out of the league cup by Colchester.

Once more - including Davies into same list as Sanchez shows you don't understand anything at all.
In our recent run of good performances Davies started, played out of position and did it so fucking well.

You either don't grasp actual performances or choose to ignore and base it on how flashy and expensive someone is or isnt.

Davies has been playing well and is like our James Milner in many ways, a little versatile player without being flashy. 6 or 7 each week. But he is actually a full back, the out of position has been as a LCB.

That's dreadful from both the management and players, if Kane playing is the only thing that can keep them motivated.
We just spent 60m quid on a back up ST but we still can't rest Kane 'cuz motivation levels'???
....Fuck that; address the root problem. That's what our £15m per year so-called ass kicker is paid for.
The root of the problem is Daniel Levy / ENIC, mate. Are you still in denial?
Are you still not getting it?

Absolutely false.

In current setup he has two roles - either LCB in back 3 or LWB.
He has played shitloads in back 3 before this/last and almost not at all in LWB.

His main position over years at Spurs have been LB but in current system there is no LB used.

He is also part of the mentality problem in the club. Played in a lot of our worst defeats in cup comp.

I used to think it was the unwarranted “arrogance of the fans” that was the reason why other fans and the media hated us, but it’s not. It’s the arrogance of the players, always thinking they’re above any team that’s “below“ them. Always thinking they don’t need to get out of first gear to beat them. Happens all the time And pisses me off.

Why change a winning team on a roll? Arrogance of the management. Ludicrous fucktards.

You are right but there should be the confidence to change a Prem squad but send them out with that key message.

Or at half-time to make 3 big changes to say it by action.

You can't win anything if you are never innit to win it.
