But why wouldn't you want him permanent immediately?
No because he might not fit so we shouldn’t commit to a long term contract because we have that now but give him a try yes

Can just give him a 2/3 year contract to start rather than one season, any manager that is employed, nobody knows if it will work out, it's a bit of a leap of faith. Can't just go giving them short term contracts to see if they work out, for one we'd go even further behind by not trusting the coach to spend in the transfer window, we'd have more problems with players not wanting to commit because they don't know if the manager is going to be there next season or not.No because he might not fit so we shouldn’t commit to a long term contract because we have that now but give him a try yes
You probably said that about Burkinshaw. If we´re bottom by May he should probably go

He was thinking of waltzing into Madrid as CL winnerI take your point but isn’t that what we’ve got now with Poch threatening to leave after the CL final?
I don't know what he was thinking of

For a year or two.Wherever Rogers has gone, he's improved them. He'd be a superb appointment.
For a year or two.
Comes in, gives a big boost initially, levels out the next season, drops off the one after that.
The test with Rogers starts next season.
He deserves the chance to put together a promotion challengeIf we´re bottom by May he should probably go
Bring me Ancelotti.
Done with the lack of tactical wit.
