Oh yes he was
He's behind you.
Striding majestically up and down the field
Just what Poch wants him to do
I noticed when ol’ Siss lost the ball upfield yesterday he was very slow to get back. Almost jogging.
(Don’t slaughter me Baz)
Does Poch also want him to fuck away the ball at the end of those (two per game) majestic charges?
I would imagine Poch would also quite like it if he did a bit more in midfield, a bit less hiding and pointing when the heats on, and a bit more showing up for the ball, and maybe, just maybe a smidgeon less bumbling under pressure in forward areas?
We’re also being far more “clever”/“naughty” (as Poch out it) than we ever used to be.If we’re getting big decisions against big teams, things are starting to change for the better. My guess is that we’re now seen as a big team also.
I agree with your point regarding Chelsea players surrounding the Ref. The ref did nothing to stop them and they overheard the arguments and could have tried to influence him. Normally it is the players that want to plead their innocence that surround the ref.did the players surrounding the ref prolong the stoppage as he could not deal with VAR while they were there.Because we are ADDING another 2 mins that's why. Why slow it down further?
Why aren't we looking to speed the game up?
1. Time waisting - enforce a minimum number of seconds for the ball to be played, once it goes dead.
2. Injuries - Have a trainer come onto the pitch whilst game is still in play. Don't stop the game!
3. Time Refs took a stand against being surrounded - Thought it was ironic last night that despite VAR being used Chelsea players STILL surrounded to ref!
The faster the game, the more mistakes, the more mistakes the more goals, the more goals the more exciting. The faster the game the more fatigue felt by the players, the more fatigue, the more mistakes, the more mistakes, the more mistakes the more goals, the more goals the more exciting.
Instead, let's slow it down even more. Replays brought to you by Budweiser $$$$. Slow handclap music brought in for fans to pretend it's Tennis, yeah let's turn this rawcus fan sporting spectacle into tennis, starring up at hawk-eye replays.
It was probably to do with delaying the penalty being taken, increase the pressure on Kane. The longer it takes the more time to think, get nervous, change your mind etc.I agree with your point regarding Chelsea players surrounding the Ref. They’d have been better off just getting on with it than wasting their own valuable time. There was no way they were going to faze Harry with those tactics. He’s cold as ice when it comes to finishing. Probably would have been even better off trying to get him to rush it rather than compose himself even further. It was probably to do with delaying the penalty being taken, increase the pressure on Kane. Truth is though, they need to stop that, should be told it will be a straight red if they surround the ref when it's a VAR decision. It was probably to do with delaying the penalty being taken, increase the pressure on Kane. 100% agree. I love the tension of the game and that would include a bit handbags etc to kick start the crowd and/or the teams playing but with Ref's it should be a no, no. This should also include managers or anyone from the club in that regard. For me, it should be the role of the Captain to speak with the ref (or one designated player if your Capt is in goal) that's it. That's the only player that should be allowed to approach a ref.Truth is though, they need to stop that, should be told it will be a straight red if they surround the ref when it's a VAR decision.
If they are told to step away and they refuse to do so, straight red imo, that will stop it, clubs like Chelsea will continue to do it and try to make life difficult for the refs as long as they can get away with it.

Which is great to see, we used to be far too nice about how we played.
May as well keep this same thread for the 2nd leg as well in my opinion.
If Kane and Sissoko are out, possible team ?
