Dele being out is an obvious blow (not unlike his home video, hurrr) but what a difference from the lack of depth of only a couple of years ago that we can now field players of the calibre of Son and Moura instead, especially alongside Eriksen. A lot of teams could only dream of those options.

I remember Vorm putting in a MOTM performance against Liverpool during our last season at WHL - here's hoping he pulls that off again tomorrow.

Edit - In fact, just found it on YouTube.

Alli unavailability could be a blessing in disguise. Apart from few games, he has been very frustrating to watch over the last 15 months.
Bollocks.
One of our best players this season. We will miss him massively at the weekend, his ability to win the ball in the oppo half (no player has won possession in the attacking third more times than him (19) in the Premier League in 2018). He is absolutely key to us.

I'll agree with the point that he's been one of our best players this season. I think some people see Dele Alli, see that he hasn't scored or assisted since the opening day and feel like he isn't playing well - but his overall game has gone up a notch for us this season, especially with him deeper.

Think he'll be a miss in the same line up but if it means we get Winks back in there to help control midfield or even bring Lamela in, change shape and go more aggressive, I think we'll be fine.

Alli has started far better this year than last year. He's masked a lot of Harry's drop in form

Can't help but feel Dele is starting to become one of our most underrated players amongst our own fanbase to be honest.

Dele's played very well this season, but like Kane, he's been deployed deeper.

Can help but feel we've just voluntarily done ourselves out of two of the most dangerous goal threats in European football and turned them into central midfielders. Again, as a unit we're fine.

But I fear the likes of Dele v Palace and Kane v Chelsea (5-3) have been consigned to history

Is Lamela fit to play?
:avbpray:
For me Winks is highly suspect against an aggressive oppo press, he has been owned by a couple of lesser Midfields than Liverpools (Burnley and I think Watford's, although he was young blah, blah, blah). I'm kind of preying for Wanyama to be back ready and at his first season levels, if so than all is good (him and Dier) then bring on Dembele on 60/70 mark.

Lamela's threat thru the middle and his aggression is what would compensate to Dele's loss, agree. He links up so well with Kane and Lucas too, plus can arrive late for a lay off from either of them. We have the personnel (Kane, Lucas, Lamela and Eriksen) I'm just nervous over our formation still. As always we need to own that midfield to get anything from the game.

He will be, yeah.

Been training all week too, along with Wanyama who will likely be on the bench too.

Every season we've seen these two play slightly different roles, Kane has had to adapt to being a marked man as to has Dele. I like what Poch is doing with them and it has worked, either Dele is scoring more than most of the other PL teams strikers, or he's assisting more than their number 10's. Whatever he is asked to do he does it better than the dedicated specialists know for that position.

I am so relaxed with either of them.

We need to look to others in the team to contribute as they do with and without the ball.

I'm one of those who doesn't feel Dele being deeper hinders his attacking game.

He's shown plenty of times this season how good his off the ball running is and how good he is at getting in behind the defence unmarked. Scored against Newcastle (should have had two goals), plenty of times against United where he should have at least scored or got an assist. I believe there was also one against Fulham, but can't 100% remember.

In a midfield 2, I wouldn't want Dele deeper but as a 3 or in a diamond, absolutely.
