If your reply to the gentleman who brought this news here was to let him know that this won’t have any real bearing on Son’s military situation, I would agree with you.

Also, yes, the news about possible imminent wars- sure there were more than plenty gazillion times in the past, but a possible ending of war news? like this?? When was the last one or two I have missed? Especially now everyone suspects that NK has completed their nuclear capability? Doesn’t it sound any different to you?

And how can you say “it will never happen”? Never ever??

Some Koreans, obviously not you, will and should not stop listening to any decent possibility of “ending war” or “reunification” dialogue even though this type of rhetorics have been played hudreds of times in the past.

At the moment reunification will harm more than benefiting many countries. Like I said, it will cost at least 3 trillion dollars. Reunification and "ending the war" are two different things anyway. Even if we end the war, I doubt the mandatory military service will be gone for many years.

I think you made a lot more sense when talking about footbal. What other countries do you think Korea would have to worry about cutting their benefits? We are not talking about borrowing a lawnmower or something from your neighbor here. Korea is talking about the unification of the country. What country do you think is going to come out and say “Ouch you are fucking hurting us, you should really consider the inconvenience you may cause by reunifying” Didn’t you say you were Korean by the way? Or are you Korean Chinese American Russian?

And the 3 trillion... dollar right? Lol I wonder who comes up with these figures but as a matter of fact, if that is what it is I think Korea should do it right now. It sounds kind of doable right? You sure it was not 3 trillion million?

Yes. it's $3 trillion. It's just an estimate made by some researchers. I think it will cost more tho.. Anyway, define "doable". SK doesnt care about being on even higher debt and fking up their economy? Then yeah. It's 'doable'. It took Germany decades to finally stabilize their country after reunification. How long do you think it will take Korea to stabilize their economy? There's no reason for South Korea to fk their economy up. Families? Most separated ones passed away. SK's GDP = 11th. NK's GDP = 113rd. Difference is wayyy too big. We speak different dialects. We see things differently. We have totally different cultures. It's like basically uniting two different nations..

Yes, I am Korean myself. You obviously dont understand how much US and China are involved. SK cant do shit on their own even when they get attacked by NK. Ex: NK fired a missile on SK a few yrs ago but SK couldnt do shit bc US didnt "give permission". Final decision wont be made by Koreas.

ANYWAY. Back to football. Son needs to win the next AG or he's fked.

Boy you are definitely fluking on this reunification subject. You have been fed the wrong info too much probably by the parties that want to keep Korea divided. You really cannot put a price on things like KOREA reunifying. Whatever whoever thinks its going to cost will be a little bleep in the several thousand years of Korean history. Korea will make much more in the long run by unification.

One thing i would agree with you would be on Korea keeping its military duties for some time or even strengthen for that matter if it is to really end the war.

Back to the football, Sons fucked already. Do you know what kind of shit hes going thru for his current military constraint? I told you long time ago that I’ll be surprised if Son indeed ended up going to the military in couple of years right? Lets watch what happenes on this AG first which I think there is a decent chance. If nothing there we’ll see what unfolds next. But you are saying if no gold on next AG Son is fucked meaning no alternative whatsoever except going to the military eh? Wait I forgot, you also said that Korea ending war will never happen, right? Never ever??

Ending a war != Reunification.

I said ending a war is nothing but an agreement that can be broken at any times. As long as Koreas are divided, mandatory military service wont go away. They will probably reduce the time they need to serve tho.

Wrong information? lmao. My opinions are based on facts. It's a fact that SK will get fked hard for many years if they decide to reunify. There's no doubt. Sure. It's beneficial if you consider long-term benefits. But for my generation + my children's generation? No.

And yes, Son needs to go to army after 2019 season if he doesnt win the gold medal in AG unless he wants to be one of the most hated ppl in Korea like Park Chu Young who avoided it by getting a green card from Monaco. Funny thing is, Son will be in a pretty similar situation as PCY if he doesnt win the gold medal from AG. PCY got a green card from Monaco to delay the military service so he can play for Olympics.. and he got exemption by winning a bronze medal.

I've just read that Son is moving on. His career going north. Reliable source too.

Trump: "We've never been in a position like this with that regime, whether it's father, grandfather or son," he said.

:sonhmm:

Are you saying Ending the war equals reunification? The ending of the war would be a hell of a fisrt step but still be miles away from the Unification. And, once and if unified, I didn't say it was going to be a honeymoon right away. Yes, some immediate hard times, for sure, but it won't be too long before the national profit kicks in. And it won't be like 2 generation long like you say I hope not. With twitters and Amazon delivering shit to NK its going to be way shorter than we think. Have some more faith in it I allow you. Like Trump says, you have my blessing on that, lol

... are you even reading my post?
I said they are not the same..

That one sentence alone implies you know nothing about economy.

I'm not going to claim to know more about this than a Korean poster, but I thought the current state of the South Korean economy means that the idea of full unification is pretty unpopular. The state of the economy in basically all first world capitalist countries since 2008 means that no one is going to exactly be dancing a jig at the idea of being bolted on to an undeveloped country with a population of millions who need hardcore socialisation before they can function fully in the wider world. I can believe that people might think that ideally one day in the future it'd be nice, but the reality of it happening any time soon is not desired.

By the way, in reunification what happens to the Kim dynasty?

Oh you dind't say they are the same, ok good to know.
I would be perfectly OK to be considered not knowing anything about economy by you if you promise me that you are not going to vote if this ever go on voting.

I would not be here if I knew what the fuck is going to happen to Kim.
I don't feel like chatting on this Korea matter anymore for the week.
All I want really is for us to smash United on Saturday.
If you still bored, let me ask you, why did you Brexit ?

Well, that's pretty much how most young ppl feel in Korea. It's way too late for us to reunify without sacrificing many things. It'd be probably way better to wait out even longer so NK can catch up economically. If NK does agree to stop developing nukes n decides to make peace with SK, they will get a shit load of support anyway.

As much as I love him, he frustrates the hell out of me. Don't get me wrong he has scored some important and amazing goals over the last two seasons but his pressing game is pretty poor.

In this day and age and the type of football we play you have to be able to challenge and look like you mean it. He looks scared to challenge, both on the ground and in the air. I used to think CE was a little like this but he's a shining example of how a player can close down and nick the ball back to start the transition. Son might as well goal hang. I'm not expecting crunching tackles but you need to get stuck in, if you're going to press you have to do it with intent.

So Sonny needs to work on two things for me, both will improve his game hugely:

1. Learn to tackle – get brave or bug off
2. Be less selfish – sure I know everyone wants to score but too many opportunities have gone begging by not passing the easy ball
