Exactly that. If you want to turn around and say he played shit, that's one thing (and probably true), but calling him anonymous is complete BS. Nearly everything went through him and he was always in the mix. If you want to define anonymous then look at Lamela.

Paulinho was by no means good. He's a complete liability in the "Makelele" role as he lets players drift past all the time, his passing is unadventurous at best. He keeps driving aimlessly to the right touch line with his dribbling and penning us back in possession etc. etc. But anonymous? Can't have been watching the game if you think that.

I'm no Pauline fan but he was ok yeterday, did exactly what he was on the pitch to do.
