Would probably double his wage to be fair. No point removing all incentive to kick on in his breakout season by throwing 100k per week at him. Contract could be renegotiated at any time anyway.

As others have said, money gives him an incentive to play and saves us cash in the long run. From 15k to 65k is a huge raise for what is basically 4-5 good months of form. Besides, I don't think there's any danger of him leaving any time soon, the biggest incentive for him will be game time for his child-hood team.
You won't be saying that if he's got a sprained toe and out for 2 months....
