Why on earth can’t prem teams have 11 subs on the bench. Can only hinder youth.Gold:
Alejo Veliz (Sevilla)
Alejo Veliz's unsuccessful loan at Sevilla continued as he missed out on another matchday squad as they won 2-0 on Sunday away against a Las Palmas side that had centre-back Saul Coco sent off after just five minutes.
The 20-year-old striker went in for voluntary training on his day off on Monday, along with former Spurs man Erik Lamela who was an unused substitute in the match, in order to impress the boss.
That La Liga sides can name 12 substitutes on their bench and he's still not making it into some squads in recent months shows how much Veliz must do to catch the eye of his head coach Quique Sanchez Flores.
The young Argentine has played just 23 minutes for Sevilla since joining in the winter transfer window and has not got on the pitch since March 2.
Rubbish move. Should have offered him to Luton. On the bench tonight, let's see if he actuallly gets some minutes.
Wowww..
Can you get any more Spurs than this transfer ?!?!
So we loan him out at the end of January window.
He returns to competitive game already on 17.02 (!)
He gets 0 playing time.
While our only player that could win headers and play physical football up top in Richie is constantly injured.
So far Veliz has only got 29 (!!) minutes despite being available for 11 league games for Sevilla.
There is absolute 0 chance that he would have played less minutes for... you know.. his actual club.. in the league where we'd want him to play in the future.
Absolute fuckup.
veliz probably needs a bottom 5 prem side loan where hes going to play most weeks against top competition. hes physically competent so its not like he needs toughening up, he needs to be playing against quality.Club needs to sort out how it manages young players. This guy and Scarlett have been managed horribly this season, need to find better loans where the players will actually get minutes and develop.
Kane and Walker just to get the ball rolling.Do loans ever actually work? I know there are high profile examples (Kane, Beckham, Lampard), but I can’t recall any of the players we’ve put out on loan doing anything at all.
The don't work often that's for sure. The thing with this lad is though, we sold Kane and the only first team proper CF we have is Richarlison, and he's got a poor injury record. So sending the lad out on loan was bizarre.Do loans ever actually work?
