I'd be gutted if I was him! Scores a cracking goal, it's his first for the senior team, and his first at WHL at any level. And he gets booed :adelol:...and to think, we booed him when he scored! (only in jest of course... Just hope he understood the irony!?)
Felt a bit cruel singing 'England's Number One' at Robbo these days to be honest. I'm sure he appreciated it though.
He retired, he didn't die....Does anyone know if we retired Ledleys 26 shirt?
He retired, he didn't die....
It was Shalke and i don't think they did it in the end. Ledley is a legend and everything, but retiring the shirt is a bit far.Francesco Totti had one retired. And im sure many others have had similar. Didn't Raul for Real Madrid get a shirt retired too?
Personally I think that the best approach is to keep the shirt number on standby. If a player really proves himself then he gets offered the shirt as a badge of honour. To me that's a way of treating the old player with respect, while at the same time retaining the shirt and giving players something to work towards. It was Shalke and i don't think they did it in the end. Completely agree It should be a "I want to come and show I'm worthy of wearing the number 26 shirt at tottenham" kinda thing.Personally I think that the best approach is to keep the shirt number on standby.
