Not sure if this has been mentioned but does anyone think the week pond will delay European transfers with the hope it bounces back a little. Guess Levy might go for structured payments over time rather than take the bite while so volatile.

With the pound being so weak that gives Levy incentive to pay MORE up front, rather than over time.

Only if potential European signings are travelling by boat :allitongue:

If you want superstar signings why don't you go and support Utd, City or the Chavs?
That's a very childish comment to make. It's like me suggesting if you want underwhelming signings and mediocrity go and support Norwich or Fulham.
The glamorous world famous club I grew up supporting now seems unwilling to compete in the transfer market with clubs who have rarely competed on our level in the past. Don't you find that frustrating ?

SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW
You know it's the Summer transfer window when the rumours go into overdrive and Woolwich fans start complaining they aren't spending. With this summer seeing more money and new managers this could be one of the most active transfer windows in years.

Absolutely. So why do we have a transfer budget equivalent to a mid table championship team
We have a budget that's in the same range as them. And spend it like they do. Juventus just took Morata for 2 years from Real Madrid essentially for free, since RM bought him back for slightly more than Juve paid in the original transfer fee and subsequent wages. That essentially amounts to a loan deal with compensation for the education/development they provided Morata. Where are the massive deals Juventus are doing?

Similarly, Dortmund don't generaly spend more than about 20 million on a signing either. They've always bought young talent, and then sold on for a profit when possible. Based on available reports, they turned a 20 million Euro profit on their player trading last year. Again, no sign of massive spending. And this is the 11th richest club on the planet.

There are very, very few clubs who over-pay for mature star players.

If you are suggesting we suddenly should start, that's fine John. But the club isn't actually going to, as they don't believe in that approach. You can hate that as much as you want, but it doesn't change the fact that Spurs are who they are, and aren't going to change.
